Mission: The massachusetts public health association promotes a healthy massachusetts through advocacy, education, community organizing, and coalition building. Our focus is on policies and programs the prevent illness, disease, and injury, particularly among those facing inequities.
Programs: Mpha conducts program and policy advocacy focusing on five programmatic areas: access to healthy and affordable food; economic justice; healthy built environment; public health infrastructure; and integration of community health priorities into healthcare. All of this work promotes improved health and health equity in the commonwealth. Activities included two large, statewide meetings as well as multiple local or regional meetings/trainings focused on the needs of local public health, healthy and affordable food, transportation needs of lower income residents of the state, housing, and supporting prevention through the social determinants of health.
