Programs: The intermediate care facility for adults with intellectual and develomental disbilities program is long-term care for adults. Two of the programs are housed in 6-unit apartment complexes which allows for residents to be in the least restrictive environment, while still having 24-hour supervision and staff assistance. Additionally, there are seven group homes operated in the austin area for residents. All programs include: case management, nursing, staff assistance and supervision, bookkeeping, independent living skills classes, transportation, assistance with meal preparation, taking medications, and hygiene. Approximately 76 residents were served during this year.
the sinclair children's center, in woodville, texas, is licensed by the texas department of family and protective services and has a total capacity of thirty children, including both boys and girls. The children's center serves multi-handicapped boys and girls who have varied disabilities including mental retardation, emotional disturbance, learning disabilities, histories of abuse or neglect, and other health impairments. Residential services are composed of a therapeutic milieu, with caring , trained child care staff who supervise twenty-four hours a day and administer a system of designed rewards and consequences within a level system. Approximately 116 children were served during this year.
the brain and neurological services of the mary lee foundation consist of the rehabilitation center of the extended care program. The rehabilitation center is a twenty-four hour supervised program focusing on developing the skills necessary to maintain competitive employment, to accomplish the activities required for daily living, to manage self-medication, to improve cognitive skills, and to achieve emotional adjustment and effective interpersonal relationships. Services are provided on both a residential and an outpatient basis, depending upon the treatment needs. The extended care program is an extension of the mlfrc designed to enhance a smooth transition from supervised residential treatment to independent community living. Case management services are available to former clients at an added cost. Approximately 30 clients were served in this year.
