Luck Ranch is a very simple, no frills rescue ran by one person.
I've know Dwayne personally for over ten years. He is a kind hearted, humble retired Marine who prefers a relaxed, simple way of life.
My daughter completed a lot of her CVA training hours volunteering at Luck Ranch. Learning about hydrotherapy in the pond, and muscle therapy massages on horses hind quarters to help them move better.

I've seen the difference between when animals arrive at Luck Ranch, and after. I've seen the personal care Dwayne invests into each and every animal. The nights he has went without sleep because he was worried about a particular animal so stayed outside, next to them all night. Or the times he has stood and held them tight and reassured them through downpouring hurricane conditions.
Luck Ranch is NOT a catch, rehab, and re-home kind of place.
The animals that arrive quickly learn that they no longer need to fear where they will end up, who their "master" will be, how they will be treated or in many cases mis-treated, as they have reached their forever home.
They are free to live how they want, or how they would have lived had they been wild.
Luck Ranch is definitely a most worthy cause to invest in! Your donation will 100% go towards the animals. Their feed, hay, medical, and enrichment activities wouldn't be available without your help!

I am an animal lover and it is obvious to me that Luck Ranch Inc, is a true animal guardian that loves each and every animal that has become a resident there. It is a true sanctuary. I help financially, when I am able. Because, I believe in this rescue and have been following it for many years.

Luck Ranch is a wonderful rescue that takes in horses, cows, and lots of other animals in need of homes. When my father passed away begining of 2021, he drove from Florida to Louisiana to get my dads horses. Then in 2021 after the hurricane hit, my fence and barn were destroyed so he made the trip to Louisiana again to get the other 2 horses.

I just want everyone to know how this is one of the few horse rescues/sanctuaries that I support because at Luck Ranch the horses are treated to a life which is similar to the life they would be living if they were still in the wild. Except here the receive plenty of food, shelter, and medical care to maintain a longer life.

Rustic- peaceful - animals roam as they please.
I brought apples and hand fed them - under the watchful eye of caretaker.
I will be back - I do offer support as needed.
It is a worthy charity - horses, cows, various other animals live in a loving environment.

Luck Ranch takes in horses and cows in need of a forever home. Most of them were rescues that were neglected. Dwayne also took in my father's 4 horses when both of my parents died. We didn't have the yard for them. My sister was going to keep 2 of them, until a hurricane done major damage to their home and they were no longer able to provide for them. Dwayne puts the animals needs before his own. We donate to Luck Ranch as often as we can to try to help. It would be great if Dwayne could get some extra help for them.

At Luck Horse Ranch they give horses in need a forever home. Most of them are horses that come from situations of abuse and/or neglect, or are surrendered due to an owner’s inability to continue caring for them. Most come in untrained, elderly, or unhealthy and underweight.
They’re horses with nowhere to go, and that’s where Luck Ranch comes in. They provide a peaceful, herd-based environment offering safety, companionship, and the freedom and space to play and recuperate. The horses needs are tended to daily with compassion and understanding.

When Mel Chapman in Louisiana who loved the horses he had rescued and cared for so much was close to death, and just after his own wife had died,he asked Dwayne at Luck Ranch to please take those horses and give them a foreverbhome so that those four horses would never be separated nor neglected. After Mel died Dwayne immediately drove from Florida to Louisiana and was able to bring the first two horses to Luck Ranch. Then the Cat 5 hurricane struck Louisiana and destroyed the shelter and food supply for the remaining two horses. As soon as the water was down enough to get into the remaining two horses Dwayne made a second trip to Louisiana and rescued those two horses that had been living in a flooded area and were in bad health. Dwayne did not hesitate to get those horses the medical care and back in good health and was able to now provide those horses a forever home.

Luck Ranch is a small Rescue/Sanctuary for those 3 Strike Wild HOrses (Mustangs) that through no fault of their own failed in the adoption process. It is located on property that is still natural with lots of trees and s[ace for these horses to be cared for and live out their life as a horse. Without a sanctuary like this those horses would be considered as excess property by the government and would no longer be protected by the Wild Horse and Burro Act.

I have known the Luck Ranch for several years now. The love and care he gives these horses and animals is amazing. The horses there are always taken care of with excellent health care as are the rest of the animals.. They are fed at all times and never go hungry. He cares for these animals like they are his very own flesh and blood family and so it should be. I have never seen them starving, hungry or abused in any way. Several of the animals have come to him starving to death and he has brought them around and now they look great. He consults vets for the animal's health care whenever needed. He sets out there with them when bad storms come so they are eased in their worries. I can honestly say if I was a horse I would want to live there. They come first for him, they eat then he eats. Which is what it is at my house too. I highly recommend Luck Ranch for funding to help him with these beautiful horses he has needed this funding for years and I am tickled that now he is finally being looked at for funding. This man has given his life and time for these horses and animals. He loves them with all his heart. I couldn't recommend a better person..

I've known Dwayne for almost 20 years, many years before his place became Luck Ranch. My husband and I have witnessed first hand what he has done to make sure the animals in his care receive proper food and medical care, He has taken horses that have been abused and abandoned, and given them a safe place to spend the rest of their days, We have both visited many times and donated time and money to helping him keep Luck Ranch going, especially in these challenging times. Dwayne puts the needs of his "bunch" over his own, to the point where I have sent him grocery store gift cards to make sure he buys food he can eat. He refuses to let them go without, even if it means he gets less for himself. I have watched him fulfill the last wish of a dying friend to make sure his beloved horses would be cared for after his death, even if it meant driving cross-country to get them. I have worried for him through numerous storms, because he would not leave his animals behind. He is absolutely committed to the well-being of his animals.
