Mission: The Long Term Care Community Coalition is a coalition of consumer, community, civic and professional organizations whose collective mission is to protect and improve the quality of life and quality of care for people who use and/or reside in nursing homes and other types of long-term care facilities and programs throughout New York State. Its members join together to assert, protect and enhance these persons' individual rights as consumers of long-term care services, to strengthen public health codes and standards affecting long-term care facilities and their programs and staffs. The Coalition strives to educate the policymakers, the public, and consumers, the family members and caregivers on long-term care issues, and to advocate for the needs of New York's frail elderly and disabled people who use long-term care services.
Programs: The organization issues reports and publications and maintains a website in order to inform consumers and the public at large with respect to safeguarding consumers of long-term care facilities.
