Mission: Local environment agricultural project, inc. (leap) 501(c)3 non profit that promotes healthy communities and resilient local food systems. We are a regional food system leader who connects, responds to, and strengthens communities.

Programs: Leap kitchen and food hub a. In 2017, there were 25 users, 3 of which were organizations teaching classes or holding demonstrations b. 2017 income from annual membership and hourly rent was 12,381 c. Launched leap farm share in 2017 which accounted for 70,930 in customer sales (includes sales tax) d. The food hub purchased 77,347 from 40 farmers and food producers in 2017 that was distributed/sold via the leap farm share, leap mobile market, leap booth at west end farmers market.

Reimbursed market vendors in 2017 20,444 (snap, incentives, debit, gift certificates). E. Provided snap matching funding for eight partner markets in the region including city of salem farmers market, vinton farmers market, downtown roanoke farmers market, blacksburg farmers market, floyd farmers market, catawba valley farmers market, bedford farmers market, lynchburg farmers market for a total of 27,677 in 2017.
