Mission: Mental health services of southern oklahoma, inc serves the community behavioral health needs of nine counties of southern oklahoma. Mhsso offers integrated care through their outpatient and health home programs to adults and children. Mhsso provides outpatient treatment for mental health and substance abuse issues through therapy, case management, drug court treatment, systems of care, medication clinic, and crisis services. Mhsso operates a 16 bed crisis unit and 6 chair urgent recovery center. Mhsso focuses on the whole person through health home and wellness oriented services. Programs: Clinic services provided by mhsso provide treatment for the most challenging and complex mental illness and substance abuse issues. Clinic staff assess, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for each person served. Psychiatric services are complemented with care/case management as well as group and individual counseling services. Additional interventions are commenced as identified in the treatment plan and typically provided by master's level counselors. Rehabilitation services are provided in both individual and group settings to assist with the development of daily living/recovery skills. Case managers and care coordinators assist with advocacy, linkage, and referrals for consumers so they can meet their basic needs.
the crisis stabilization unit specializes in the crisis treatment of individuals on an emergency detention or voluntary admit. The facility has sixteen beds and crisis stabilization services twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The csu also has an urgent care component for individuals needing short term crisis intervention on a voluntary basis for less than twenty-four hours. The urgent care component has six recliners. The goal of urgent care is to provide short term crisis intervention so that individuals will not need an emergency detention stay if possible. Program staff have specialized knowledge of and training in crisis care staff include a program manager, registered nurses, case managers, licensed behavioral health practitioners (lbhp), recovery support specialists, psychiatric technicians, and a consulting physician. Clinical services are provided by professional staff and may include assessment, treatment planning, therapy services, case management, rehabilitation services, pharmacotherapy, and other services as required.
systems of care "soc" is a voluntary "wrap around" plan for children who are seriously emotionally disturbed (sed), or at risk of sed, and their families. Soc staff coordinates services among providers, families, and educators. Services include assessment, diagnosis, case management, intensive home-based services, day treatment, respite care and therapeutic foster-care.
crisis diversion 24-hour emergency on call system for psychiatric emergencies: a licensed mental health professional (lmhp) is available to assess persons in crisis and determine if they need psychiatric hospitalization or if services can be safely provided in the community. The goal of crisis diversion services is hospital diversion by appropriately assessing the consumer's needs and providing immediate access to community resources and treatment. Drug court under the supervision of the judiciary, and in cooperation with local law enforcement: mhsso provides the treatment element to assist non-violent offenders as they pursue recovery and become productive citizens in the local community. Court-order drug-rehabilitation programs help abusing offenders break the cycle of addition and the crime that accompanies it. The health home program is offered to both adults and children and focuses on integrated care. Consumers in the health home program have access to nurses, case managers or care coordinators, and wellness coaches who work with them on addressing both behavioral health and physical health issues. Wellness coaches work with the consumer to address wellness goals such as smoking cessation, increased physical activity, proper nutrition, etc.
