I've been involved with Lifehouse since 1974 when I was a special education teacher. I know Lifehouse to be a pillar of our community, providing high-quality services, support, resources, and hope for our families and community members who need specialized assistance. As the County Superintendent of Schools, I value Lifehouse as a longstanding partner in our education community. We work to place many of our former students in its capable hands. The organization has continued to evolve and often engages in innovative strategies through its leadership in autism and the development of inclusive classrooms. In short, this organization is nothing short of amazing.

As parent of a special needs adult I’m very grateful for the Lifehouse Agency. Our family can now relax knowing that she is safe and happy in her own home. Lifehouse has been responsive to our daughter’s particular needs, and staff members tell me that they are happy to work for them.

The Lifehouse people--clients and staff--are warm and wonderful people. My son has been
participating in a Lifehouse social and recreational group for years. The activities they sponsor are the highlights of my son's week. I am so grateful I discovered Lifehouse all those years ago because it has really enriched my son's life, and he has formed great friendships with staff and clients.

I am privileged to serve on the Great Chefs and Wineries Steering Committee. Part of that effort is soliciting donations which admittedly is outside my comfort zone. I do better traveling around and picking up the donations. Nevertheless, it is good to get out of one's comfort zone because the mission of Lifehouse is aspirational; its staff and clients are inspirational. My efforts supporting Lifehouse brings joy to my heart and refreshes my soul.

In the 1960’s my mother was instrumental i creating the idea of a work training program for young people with developmental disabilities. Jeanne Good, my mother, was on the Marin Aid to Retarded Children board of directors and with the full support of Superintendent of Schools Director Virgil Hollis she was able to secure a location at San Rafael High School. She raised the monies needed and thus began such a program. It is my understanding this was the origin of Lifehouse. My sister Terry Good continues to be a client and I, as her guardian are very happy with all that the program offers. Sally Parks

My family has been involved with Lifehouse one way or another for 50 years. My brother was a client and lived in a managed group home for over 45 years. You can’t find a more caring and understanding non profit staff of people in the Bay Area. If you want to donate to a quality well run non profit put Lifehouse on the top of your list.

Lifehouse Agency changed our lives. They have cared for our adult autistic son for 9 years through supported living as well as helping to manage his day program. The love and growth we have seen in our son is a direct result from the help and relationships he has formed through Lifehouse Agency. We cannot imagine them not being in our lives and are forever grateful to them.

Quality of life. Caring and knowledgeable staff. Person centric interactions/programs. Peace of mind. Safe and clean housing. Healthy meals. Learning responsibilities of independent living.

As the only sibling/immediate family of a Lifehouse client, we had researched a lot of organizations that might meet my brother’s needs for today and the future. LIfehouse achieved on all counts—from his first days living in a 2 bedroom apartment with a roommate to now living in his own one bedroom apartment.

The warm, caring and dedicated staff have been there to support their clients through power outages, fires, a health crisis, pandemics—often putting their clients well-being over their own needs. It’s the quality of the people they hire that makes LIfehouse stand out. And one of the many reasons I can sleep at night or go out of town, knowing that my brother will be safe, healthy and well.

He always enjoyed participating in the group outings such as tent camping, trips to Disneyland/Las Vegas, picnics and the Awards dinner.

Lifehouse has afforded my brother to form bonds, friendships, and relationships with staff as well as other clients which are so important for a fulfilled and enriched life.

I have volunteered on the Great Chefs and Wineries committee for over ten years. The more I have learned about the organization and mission of Lifehouse the more I have fallen in love with them. The employees of Lifehouse are passionate about improving the quality of life for people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. The employees are compassionate and supportive of the people they support. I feel fortunate to be involved with such a dynamic group of people.

Lifehouse provided the best living situation my sister had - ever. they assisted us in connecting with another family (& daughter) to create a Supportive Living situation. Elizabeth had her own room, daily activities and sessions riding "her" horse at Giant Steps Therapeutic Equestrian Center, which she loved. I am grateful for the 24-hour loving care she received by Lifehouse staff. I support Lifehouse every year with by volunteering to help with the design and management of their annual Great Chefs & Wineries Gala - which provides funds for the great work they do.

Lifehouse provided the best living experience and care my sister had in her entire life. She was developmentally disabled. Lifehouse staff helped facilitate moving her into a home - a real home - where she could live (called a Supportive Living Program). I am grateful that the last years of her life were in the best, most caring environment. Thank you Lifehouse!

Lifehouse has provided home services to our adult daughter Flannery for more than 10 years. Through thick and thin, they have done an extraordinary job meeting the needs of a non-verbal, quadriplegic but very astute, young woman. Not an easy job by any means. They hire great staff who love our daughter. They rose to the unbelievable challenges of continuing her 24/7 support during COVID where other agencies that supported Flannery were unable. My wife and I cannot say enough good things about the sincere care and professionalism that Lifehouse brings to its work.

I have been on the Board of Lifehouse for multiple years now, and have personally seen and experienced how it has changed the lives of our clients for the better. Be that in terms of job placements (as appropriate), or peer interactions, or social events, let alone providing comfortable homes for our folks, Lifehouse is an integral part of the Marin and Sonoma communities.

When we were looking for a service provider to support our son with autism, we interviewed over a dozen care providers. The choice turned out to be easy. Only Lifehouse had the experience, commitment, training and financial stability to make us comfortable. Lifehouse has cared for our son for 10 years now and gets better every year. Thanks for all that you do.

Our adult daughter has been a client of Lifehouse Agency since 2010. We could not be happier with the high level of care and the independence it allows her. She is thrilled and thriving in her supported living arrangement.
The staff who support her show a remarkable level of personal and professional commitment.

Our 32 year old son is “differently – abled.” He is a gifted artist and musician and the most loving and caring person that you will meet. But he needs support with managing day-to-day and with fitting into the larger world. Because of his special needs, he has not always felt that he was a productive, contributing member of society. Because of those needs, as parents, we have worried about him as he has learned to navigate in his community. We have worried that he will be happy. Most importantly, we were worried about who would take care of him when we are gone.

When we were introduced to Lifehouse, everything changed. We can rest easy every night because we know that our son is well cared for. Lifehouse supports its clients to continue to grow and learn throughout life, just like everybody else. Our son has a new extended family, people who aren’t just staff but who genuinely care about him. Lifehouse supports families, too, as we solve problems together, help our son with his goal setting and help him build his confidence. Lifehouse has set a high standard of staff training and development in the industry - their staff have a passion for working with people with special needs, rather than seeing it as just a job. Lifehouse is on the forefront of supporting people with special needs in living their lives as the adults and young adults that they are. As a board member, I have visited Lifehouse clients in their apartments and supported living environments and have seen them take pride in their work and enjoy dinners and dancing just like anybody else. My son has a home, a family for the rest of his life and I never thought that would be possible, until he became a member of the Lifehouse family. Lifehouse is an inspiration for the community, in its innovation, advocacy and dedication to the highest quality programming. As Lifehouse assists our son and others like him to function in the larger society, it enhances everyone’s lives.

Lifehouse is and private non-profit who say there mission is to help the Disable Adults to thrive in live. Mission that has not being true for the clients at lifehouse. Lifehouse gets a monthly payment for each individual under there care from Medical, Social Security and Golden Gate Regional Center money that is intended to provide the clients with all the necesary ting to thrive in life. Lifehouse doesn't provide the clients with any services not even for there daily needs. Lifehouse in order to sabe money and pay other things they have made the clients there las priority. Lifehouse has also abuse the Work investment Act grants for there owned gain, they don't provide any training in wished this grants are ment for by the federal Government, this agency is all for profit, discrimination, abuse, with a complete intention to make someone rich with the federal fundings... a complete scam.
