Causes: Boy Scouts of America, Children & Youth
Mission: The mission of the Leatherstocking Council, Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the scout oath and law.
Target demographics: youth achieve specific objectives, commonly referred to as the “Aims of Scouting.” They are character development, leadership development, citizenship training, and personal fitness.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 3,000 Scouting families!
Geographic areas served: The Leatherstocking Council, BSA, supports Scouting families across Delaware, Hamilton, Herkimer, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Otsego and Schoharie counties.
Programs: there are over 150 merit badge programs!
