In 2006, I was able to be a small part of KSTR with the academic group I was traveling with from SUNY Oneonta in Oneonta, NY. While in Quepos, Costa Rica, we hand made post cards to sell at the Hotel Mono Azul to sell in their gift shop to support the organization. We were able to take flyers and pamphlets to the local shops and the beaches in the area containing information on why feeding the monkeys is actually a destructive act, for both the animal health and behavior. It may not have been a lot, but the organization is made up of wonderful people who put their hearts in the right place to make a solid difference.
