Mission: KIDS HOPE USA (KHUSA) forms one-on-one mentoring relationships with students through a church/school partnership. The nonprofit organization equips churches to make a lasting impact in their communities by connecting the local church with a local elementary school to operate a proven and established school-based mentoring program. In a Kids Hope USA mentor program, students meet once a week for one hour with a mentor – someone who is there just for them. This one-on-one attention of another caring and consistent adult in a student’s life makes a difference! Through this unique model, church volunteers mentor a student to provide additional emotional, social, and academic support to the children selected by the school. By leveraging the existing structures between churches and schools as the framework for these programs, Kids Hope USA fosters sustainable, life-changing relationships that empower both the children and their mentors to thrive.

Been volunteering with this org 8 years now !
Our congregation 25 years. Though senior members are aging the ones able to get to school continue to do so or are an active prayer partner for those of us younger. It’s a beautiful thing to make a difference in the life of children; especially a Title 1 campus w great needs.

When I became a Kids Hope mentor, I had no idea how it would change my life for the better. The little girl I met with for 3 years, was taken out of the home where she lived and was put into Foster Care, and would no longer be in the school district. This child had wrapped herself around my heart and I prayed daily for her. Then, shortly after I got this news, I got a call from the school letting me know that the Foster Mom wanted to know if she could have my email. . Of course, I said "yes.". I got a email from the foster mom saying "This little girl hasn't talked about anyone but you since we got her. I was a Kids Hope Mentor in the past and had no idea how much we could help a child. Then she asked if I would have a relationship with her outside of school. Of course, I said "YES!" I still see her and it's like having another grandchild to love! i I am still involved with Kids Hope USA as a director and a mentor. Kids Hope USA gives us so many resources to help us in the mentoring hour, and so many ideas how to be a better director!

Kids Hope USA provides mentors to students who need some encouragement, support and love. When students see their mentor in the hallway, they get the biggest smile and often run to give their mentor a hug. Students frequently ask if this is the day their mentor will be there because they enjoy the time spent together. Students without a mentor often ask when they will get one. Students love being in Kids Hope USA and their parents appreciate the support for their child.

Kids Hope USA is an amazing organization that facilitates getting mentors into schools to work one on one with kids for the school year. I have been with them now for a few months as a director and the training, resources, and stories I have seen and heard from the mentors and directors with the program are amazing. It's amazing to see how one person can make sure an impact on a child's life. That one person can provide consistency and stability to a child that otherwise wouldn't have it. The mentor has the full support of a prayer partner, their director, church, etc to be present for the child. The relationship that forms and life skills learned through 1 hr a week is a life long benefit and highlight to the child and mentors week. I am excited to see what this school year brings for the children and mentors in the program.

Volunteering with KidsHope has been such a rewarding experience! The connections that were made between my student and I - educationally and emotionally for both of us! - grew our relationship each year. KidsHope leadership provided support and training, as well as encouragement and resources. I really felt like I was able to make a difference in the life of my student.

Kids Hope has been a part of Quincy Elementary for 20 years. We have seen first hand the difference this program has made in the lives of the students that receive one on one time with a Mentor that shows up just for them one a week. Many of these kids come from broken homes and cannot wait for their Mentor to spend time with them. The teachers at school also see the value of this program and highly trust us to provide them with trained adults. Can't say enough positive things about Kids Hope!!

I can’t think of a better organization to meet the needs of kids in the neighborhood, come alongside hard working parents, teachers and school staff, and involve community members who want to make a difference. It’s a simple, scalable model to transform lives.

I've had the opportunity to work with Kidshope for 11 years as a director. They are an amazing organization that offers so much support for those of us working in the trenches. Webinars, zoom meetings, emails, new materials, a counselor on call, just to name a few. Their goal is to truly come along side churches, schools, parents and children to better our communities nationwide!
