Mission: Kendal at home, a nonprofit organization, offers a wide range of options designed to promote successful aging for members of diverse ages, lifestyles and financial means who want to remain in their own homes. Embracing kendal's unique set of values and practices, kendal at home fosters a unified spirit of community and collaboration within the organization and the field of aging. Kendal at home serves a need for coordinated home care and service which is less expensive than institutional care and provides therapeutic value to members who receive care at home. Kendal at home intends to reserve a portion of its operating revenue to fund deficits which arise as a result of non-paying or reduced fee members.
Programs: Kendal at home assists older adults who want to stay in their homes and communities as they age achieve this goal. The cost of an at home program model continues to be lower than traditional facility based models, while still providing continuing care services. Kendal at home services encompass the members physical, psychological, and spiritual needs as they age. The life plan coordination team at kendal at home developed individual baseline wellness assessments, enhancing the members health through various technologies, physical fitness sessions, and innovative cognitive wellness initiatives. Kendal at home provides educational forums to members as well as the community at large and serves as a resource on aging matters for public advocacy. Kendal at home was launched in 2004 and has provided services to over 360 seniors in ohio over the last thirteen years focusing on a healthy aging initiative. Kendal at home has been a leader in providing dementia care training and guidence. Our program helps to eductate and train other providers in the field of aging promoting best practices and efficient models of care. Accomplishments for 2017 include: expansion of our at home program to central and southern ohio markets, continued growth of our supportive services home healthcare program, and growing our community by 42 new members.
