Kelsey's Dream is just an all around amazing nonprofit! Helping children and families who have been diagnosed with cancer by giving love and support is inspirational.
Kelsey's Dream changes lives in our community by creating a love of service and an opportunity to volunteer at all ages. The annual Kelsey's Fall Festival spotlights their love for helping the world around them. The Kuhns family never stops amazing me as this organization continues to grow and develop every single year.
Kelsey's Dream is truly a wonderful nonprofit organization. Helping children that have cancer by making there treatments a little less unbearable. This group of volunteers are always in some form or another raising money to meet this goal. I have volunteered since 2009 at Kelsey's Festival. This carnival like day is geared toward the kids. Hay rides, face painting, bird house making, games, and rides are just a few things the kids can do on this day of fun. I believe what I enjoy most about this day is the pure laughter that is heard.
I was a classmate of Kelsey's and have been a volunteer for Kelsey's Dream for many years. I also served as an intern for Kelsey's Dream recently. It's amazing to witness the extraordinary impact this organization has on our community and the people who are benefiting from it.
I have been involved with Kelsey's Dream since it started. It is so rewarding to be involved with an organization that has touched so many lives.... It is amazing to see the outpour of love and dedication that has extended beyond our local community. Many children have benefited from the efforts of this organization and Kylie, Tina, and Lynn have to be thrilled to see Kelsey's legacy live on. One experience of many that I want to share is when we went Christmas caroling at the Janet Weis Children's Hospital at Geisinger in Danville. To be able to see the children smile when we would sing to them and see them actually enjoying the snacks provided by Kelsey's Dream was very emotional. I love Kelsey's Dream!
I was involved with Kelsey's Dream summer 2012. As an intern, I helped organize the Fall Festival. From the moment i started the experience was more than i could have expected. The founders treat every volunteer as if they are equally important as themselves. They value the help the community gives and it shows in the work they do. They make a huge difference in children's lives and make their days a little brighter. The Fall Festival event was so much bigger then i ever expected after the all the months i helped planned. I could not believe that Kelsey's Dream brought such a large crowd to the event. I was very impressed with the events that they are involved with and how successful and enjoyable they are for everyone involved.
Wow! This is a story everyone should hear! This a story about carrying on the dream of a little girl who was taken from us far too young. This is the story of a family who turned a tragedy into a triumphant legacy! This is a story that shows that in the midst of your pain you can choose to give to others, to make a difference. Kelsey's Dream was born from the imagination of a sister who lost her best friend. Kylie is an amazing young lady who every time I open the paper or hop on facebook I see another way that this organization is touching lives! I had the privilege as a freelance reporter to cover a story on Kelsey's Dream. So many volunteers, so many hands working together to create something great. Something lasting. Something awesome! As I interviewed Kylie I found a warrior in the body of a teenager. I found a young lady so filled with compassion, so driven by her sister's journey, so determined to reach out to children who are undergoing the same treatments as Kelsey, and simply make an impact. Well, there is nothing simple about it! This takes time, committment, courage, and a never-ending motivation to change the world one child at a time! Because of Kelsey's Dream, I believe a community has been inspired and that community is now growing to a national community. I don't believe this family could have honored their daughter/sister in a better way! Kelsey lives on because her sister and her parents found a way to keep her alive!
I've been involved with Kelsey's Dream since it started in 2007. What differentiates it from other organizations is the sense of community it has created in our town and neighboring areas since it was founded. The feeling volunteers take away from helping out at a Kelsey's Dream event is really the most rewarding part. Seeing as how the number of volunteers has grown immensely since 2007 and continues to grow each month, it is evident that people want to get involved and be a part of this life-changing nonprofit. Having volunteered in many of these events, I understand why my community feels this way, and hope to stay involved as it continues to grow and branch out to help many more children in need, fulfilling the mission behind Kelsey's dream.
Being a member of Kelsey's dream from it's inception it is very exciting and rewarding to be able to volunteer and participate with an organization that is really a "grass roots" organization. The Kuhns Family "i.e." Tina, Lynn and Kylie work tirelessly to make sure this organization runs smooth and continues to grow and expand. I'm sure that countless people that they have helped thus far are greatly appreciative to have such a selfless non-profit organization such as Kelsey's dream helping them in their time of need. I look forward to watching and helping this organization grow and continue to help others in need.
Our family has been involved with Kelsey's Dream for several years now. It has been a great experience not only for myself but for all three of my children as well. It has reminded us how lucky we are to have the blessings we have. It has also taught my kids the joy of helping others, even if you don't know them. I am very proud of the way our community joins together over and over again to support such a wonderful group. Attending the yearly festival is a great way to warm your heart and see so many volunteers working together and having fun for such a great cause. Thanks so much for allowing us to be a part of what you do!
I have been involved with Kelsey's dream for quite a few years now, including being volunteer of the year during 2012. Kelsey's dream had given me experiences that I will never be able to forget. I learned how just doing the smallest acts can brighten some people's days. Also, I learn that there are people out there that have it way worse than i do. By helping it was kind of a reality check for me. I had the opportunity to meet one of the special little girls that the origination helps, Michael. It is an all around wonderful organization. All the volunteers are absolutely wonderful to work with, and Lynn, Tina and Kylie are great as well.
I love this Organisation. They help in so many ways for all the kids of the hospital. They do their best to make stays more fun, and less scary for the kids. The snack program is an awesome thing too! kids are able to choose from a variety of snacks to enjoy during their visit. Such a great bunch of people, and a blessing to many!
I knew Kelsey and have been involved since the start. Kelsey's Dream is truly a phenomenal organization not only to witness but to partake in. Not only a life changer to many whether on the giving or receiving end, but an experience to remember for the rest of my life. Truly wonderful.
I intern for Kelsey's Dream, and it's an amazing organization. The people are not only the kindest, most generous, down to earth people but they are so much fun to be around. Being a part of the Kelsey's Dream team is an extremely rewarding experience-- organizations don't get any better than this!
I became involved with Kelsey's Dream a year and a half ago as an intern from Bucknell University. I can honestly say I have never been part of a more wonderful or dedicated organization. Being able to work with Tina and Kylie has been the most amazing experience I could have asked of an internship. Their entire family works endlessly to help children with cancer and children in need. The work they do for children is above and beyond any organization I have ever worked with in the past and am so grateful I am able to help in any small way I can.
We have been in contact with Kelsey's Dream for a few years now and every one of those years have been awesome! Lynn, Tina and Kylie are a wonderful family and they have great people who work with them to see Kelsey's Dream come to fulfillment. They have helped our family personally at Christmas the past few years and through a special hunt with our daughter Michaela and through their snack program at the hospital which we have personally seen so many other children benefit from that wonderful snack box. They are all great people who desire to help as many as they can with as much as they can! We LOVE Kelsey's Dream!
I am ashamed to say, I don't know half of what Kelsey's Dream does. I had bought Chemo Ducks a few years ago. I was emotionally overwhelmed thinking of kids being able to have a "duck" to help them understand what was going happen. Kylie is one special sister to build this "Dream" in Kelsey's memory to help others going through treatments and their families. They also collect "tabs" from cans to recycle for cash for the "dream".
What a great cause to remember such a wonderful little girl, and all her family and friends do to help others. This is one of the best non profit groups there is. Her wonderful sister Kylie has such a Great big heart. She has been seen on Rachel Ray. Please help support Kelseys Dream so they can help others.
Kelsey's Dream is an amazing organization. What I most like about them is that they actively pursue the role of young people participating in their efforts. Kelsey's Dream is very community focused and they provide countless avenues for people of ALL ages to make a difference. Kelsey's Dream started because a strong, sweet little girl had a huge heart...that heart continues to beat in our community, and communities beyond because of excellent and caring leadership. They are well organized, focused and friendly. The are truly a "dream team."
I have gotten to know the family and people who run this organization and they are fabulous! What all they do all year long to help other children and families is amazing! They provide help any way they can to help make childrens lives a little better while they receive treatments for there sicknesses. I am amazed with how much work they do everyday to help other families and children. They are continuously having benifits to raise money all year long. There are so many hours that go into this organiztion to help others. I am so lucky to have gotten to know these folks and learn what they do.
Kelsey's Dream is and always will be a SHINING STAR organization! Theirs is a truly inspirational story of turning tragedy, sadness, and grief into hope, happiness, and cheer for others in need. There is nothing too big or small for them. Everyone participating in events, fundraisers, and the like are always cheerful, loving, compassionate, and genuinely caring for the ones they are helping. It is an honor to know them, support them through fundraising, prayers, words of encouragement, helping to spread the word of their events, and love them as community members.
