KEEPS continues to be an excellent choice for after-school care in the village of Mamaroneck. My children attended KEEPS several years ago while I worked full-time. The staff helped them with homework, played with them, helped them socialize, taught them kindness and compassion, and allowed them to just be "kids." I was so impressed with the organization that I joined the board. Even though my children have long since grown up and moved away, I continue to be actively involved with the organization and eagerly support its endeavors.
My wife and I looked at several after school child care programs in Larchmont/Mamaroneck for our daughter, at the time attending Central Elementary School (that was in 2007...she is now at Mamaroneck High School). KEEPS was without doubt the best of the after school programs at the time, and that has not changed. Children are not just thrown together into one large, noisy room. Then as now, well-trained staff members oversee small groups of children participating in different activities in different rooms. I was so impressed with the director, staff, and program that I joined the Board of Directors and have been serving on the Board now for nine years. KEEPS has second generation kids (that is, kids who attended KEEPS, grew up, started a family, and now send THEIR kids to KEEPS). How many after school programs in Westchester County have been around for THAT long and can claim THAT kind of ringing endorsement?
