Programs: Instruction, research and clinical practice:education and related services (e. G. , room and board) are provided to over 24,000 students including approximately 14,000 full-time and 10,000 part-time students. Research and related services (e. G. , research training) are provided through approximately 2,100 government and private sponsors. The university remains a leader among the nation's research universities. auxiliary enterprises:includes services furnished directly or indirectly to students, faculty and staff and charges related to, but not necessarily equal to the cost of services. Traditionally these services include; food services, student housing and bookstores. Also reflected in this category are activities related to vending machines, bus service and athletic concessions. In addition, the university includes the activities related to the johns hopkins university press for publication and distribution of scholarly books, journals and on-line collections.

student services:includes admissions and registar offices and those activities whose primary purpose is to contribute to the student's emotional and physical well-being and to his or her intellectual, cultural and social development outside the context of the formal instruction program. Examples include: student services administration, social and cultural development, counseling and career guidance, financial aid administration, student records and student health services.
