Programs: Operate and maintain an educational institute serving appoximately 156 enrolled students in school grades k-8 and provide related community educational services. 2013 2014 was the third year of school operations for jamaa learning center with the opening of jamaa as a full-service community charter public school in august 2011. The most significant activities still included community outreach events with the intent of providing educational and social services to the community it aims to serve- i. E. Annual back-to-school picnic with backpack and school supplies giveaway and the cultural arts sikuku showcasing the artistic endeavors of students and local artists. The primary activity of jamaa is the provision of high-quality educational services in the extended school day instructional program. Jamaa grew from the prior year serving six (6) grades (kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 7th grades) to serving students in kindergarten through 8th grade during the 2013 2014 school year. Additionally, there was social services programming daily for all nine (9) grades in the areas of physical fitness, cultural arts, emotional well-being, and technology.
