Nonprofit Overview

Causes: Health, Specialty Hospitals

Mission: Why do children and families need these programs? Children in our country are entitled to an education and "related services" through their public school systems. However, most school systems cannot afford to give disabled students all the attention they need to progress without sacrificing others in their classes. This is complicated by the fact that multiple specialized therapists in several fields are in short supply for a given school district. At the J.D. McCarty Center all the disciplines of rehabilitation-- from physical therapy to behavior counseling--are centrally located. In a few short weeks, the patient can make dramatic improvement.
