Mission: We are on a mission to eliminate diaper need in our community by providing a reliable and adequate source of basic baby diapering essentials. You may be asking yourself, why are we starting a diaper bank in Indianapolis? It’s because diapers are expensive… and therefor diaper need is real! Diaper need is the lack of a sufficient supply of diapers to keep a child clean, dry and healthy. By starting a community-based diaper bank, we have the opportunity to make a health, social and economic impact. Fast Facts: - 1 in 3 families report experiencing diaper need. - About 40% of families report re-using dirty diapers to make ends meet. - Babies who remain too long in a soiled diaper are exposed to potential health risks and abuse. - Most childcare centers, even free and subsidized facilities require parents to provide a day’s supply of disposable diapers. - Cloth diapers are not accepted at the vast majority of childcare centers and laundering facilities. - Many parents cannot go to work or school if they can’t leave their babies at childcare. Indianapolis has an outstanding need and we can work to close in on this gap. Our city has been named a diaper desert and is currently under served when addressing this public health concern. Indiana Diaper Bank is the only locally based organization with a sole mission to address diaper need in our city. Providing families in need with free diapers influences a range of positive outcomes for these families, such as positive changes in parental mood (reducing risk of childhood abuse); improved child health and happiness (nurturing their ability to learn); and increased opportunities for childcare, work stability, and school attendance. It is my hope that the Indiana Diaper Bank will help enable a healthier start to a promising future for families in need. Meeting the most basic needs of families is the first step toward a stronger community. Indiana Diaper Bank does not distribute directly to individuals. We provide diapers to social service organizations that are already helping families in need through comprehensive programs and services. Indiana Diaper Bank has found that distributing diapers and other products through community partners ensures they reach those who need them most. It also provides partnering organizations with a resource – diapers – they are not normally able to provide, increasing the services they can offer and attracting clients who could benefit from their mission. With your help, Indiana Diaper Bank can supply families with the essentials they need to thrive. We rely on the generosity of individuals, groups and corporate donors. Please reach out by sending a personal message. We would love to hear from you.

A newer nonprofit, but a huge asset to the community. Excellent mission and team working on eliminating diaper need through partner agencies. I’m excited to see what they accomplish next!
