My 1st time hearing Pastor Stephen Land's Sunday Service at Immanuel Christian Center was in April 2014. ICC's lady's meeting in June 2014 I took a large basket of Palm leaf crosses I had made and sold the crosses for $1 each. The profits was over $100 which I gave to the church. That was the beginning of my fundraisers. I wanted to become a member of the church so I sat down next to Pastor Land on New Year's Eve 2016 and shared with him about wanting to be baptized. Getting baptized was a major celebration for me which took place on Father's Day in 2017. I shared my testimony which I've been working on for many years. I never was comfortable speaking in front of a group. The members at ICC are loving and caring people. I felt comfortable even when I was feeling my worse. They always said; to keep coming back and that it's OK to cry in church. Being a member I am here for a purpose and that's to serve God. God wants me to support the church with whatever I can do. I volunteer in cleaning the church with the other women. I became ICC's Fundraising Coordinator. Pastor said he won't get rid of me and that I'm like the energizer bunny. Fundraisers we've had and have opened are; Tamale Drive, Yard $ales, Shoe Drive, Mud Run Drive, Coins are FUNdraiser, $ales of "Cross in my Pocket" and Palm leaf crosses, Craigslist, Recycling old cell phones, tablets and ink cartridges, Recycling and we're on our 3rd annual Clothes FUNDrive this year. It's work and it's fun work. It's a blessing to be able to serve God for our church's causes; AC Unit replacement and other building projects. Being a part of ICC family I feel lots of love and receives and I give back the wonderful hugs. I understand when Pastor Land teaches the "Word". The members let me know I'm doing a good job. When the pastor shares his words of my work at other churches I feel I am blessed to be a member of ICC and just hearing his words is enough to keep me going. It's grand to be a volunteer any where but at ICC it's awesome. This Thanksgiving we are hosting a Thanksgiving Day Breakfast for the Homeless and I'm in charge to make 20 Blessing Bags. I am a volunteer with the KnitCro Gals of Glendale and we are knitting or crocheting caps and scarves for the homeless. My experience with Immanuel Christian Center is awesome because I get to work with our pastor, first lady and members who's been there since day one. Check out ICC's website; www.iccaz.org.
