Prior to retiring I worked for the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services. I saw the impact of drug addiction, mental health issues, etc. on families. HRDI was one of the main agencies we counted on to help our families. They consistently provided excellent service and assistance to children and families in need.
I don't have a lot of money to donate, and I have committed to support HRDI because they make a direct positive impact in people's lives. This is a well-run organization that I trust. My extended family in Chicago has struggled with mental illness and I know how badly real organizations like HRDI are needed. HRDI is a part of the Chicago community that it serves. They make a difference.
HRDI provides valuable service(s) to the many men and woman who are in need of assistance in battling mental, physical , and substance abuse issues. HRDI has been that helping hand when others turned them away and refused to serve them. They use their heads(knowledge) as well as their hearts to meet the needs of people--someone's mother, father, sister or brother, Thank God for HRDI !!

HRDI is a much needed organization in the Chicago area. It provides outstanding services to men, women and children with substance abuse and mental illness. It filled a gap when the funding for these services were cut in Chicago. I am thankful for the positive and respectful environment at the HRDI.
I had a very positive experience in working with Human Resources Development Institute, Inc. in Chicago. I was impressed with their professionalism and their ability to connect to the individuals who need help the most. There is a stigma associated with mental illness and substance abuse, but HRDI worked with a friend of mine to keep his dignity and get him back on track. HRDI provided a personal touch that let you know that they cared about the individual as they provided a comprehensive treatment plan specifically for the individual.
I would recommend Human Resources Development Institute, Inc. to anyone who struggles with drug addiction or mental illness. I would hope they could expand to every major city in America.
HRDI provides such wonderful and much needed services to the Community in Chicago. When mental health and substance abuse programs lost funding and folded in our city, HRDI remained strong and solvent for these men and women and children who were most in need. For the many years of service this organization has provided for so many in need, they are more than deserving of my nomination for this honor. With Gratitude. Anna King
