Mission: We, mercy health services - iowa and trinity health, serve together in the spirit of the gospel as a compassionate and transforming healing presence within our communities. Hospice of north iowa is a member of mercy health services and trinity health.
Programs: Hospice of north iowa was founded in 1981 and was one of the first hospices in iowa. Hospice care may be provided in the home, nursing home, hospital, assisted living unit or residential facility. When patients require care for acute symptoms that cannot be managed elsewhere, hospice of north iowa also offers inpatient care through our muse norris 6-bed inpatient unit in mason city or in hospitals in the 10-county service area. Working closely with a patient's personal physician, our experienced staff provides the most comprehensive hospice care available. Hospice of north iowa's care team includes: medical directors, nurses, certified hospice aides, social workers, spiritual care coordinators and trained volunteers.
