Wrote end of life medications with incorrect dosages and failed to make patient comfortable. It's almost like they only just want you to sign the DNR.

Please do not use or support El Paso Hospice; if you do not believe me please refer to their other reviews.

It's unfortunate to ready all these stories now and have also fallen into the pretty picture they paint and how "much they care." My mom and our family were told how she would be treated and how she would be in great hands and just be given morphine if needed to keep her comfortable. Her and my dad signed on the dotted line, as many have mentioned here, and they immediately just became another figure (won't even call it a patient, because patients at hospitals are treated more humanely than here). Immediately came to the house and sedated her to the point she couldn't open her eyes. Not even a day passed and my mom and dad decided to cancel.

That wasn't the worst part. During a hospital stay and after talking with social workers, palliative workers, and doctors in the hospital, my mom and Dad were more at peace again to return to hospice care, with care and direction of the hands of her doctor. Well as soon as she arrived at their facility (and into their care), we were once again disappointed in the staff's treatment. Rude, lazy, and quick to want to administer medication for anything. My mom was not in her death bed or last days, she was there to be taken care of for a few days to ensure her lungs had recovered from her latest exacerbation and mostly due to COVID. I'm sure she was "too demanding" in their eyes, since all they want is to sedate people and just basically leave them for dead. My nephew and his wife heard a staff member say to another "these fu**er again in room X is keeps asking for sh**!" Wow! God forbid they have to treat people and do their job. I would stay late into the night, since my mom always had visitors during the day, and all I saw was staff on their computers all night. They become desensitized to death and empathy! It must be a difficult job and admirable to those who do it right, so God bless them I hope they can all do better.

Please if you can care for you loved ones, do so. Don't expose them and yourselves to this type of treatment, especially if it's their last days. Be involved, be informed, and God bless.

We had a family member who had to transfer to another Hospice, and the quality of care and staff knowledge was poor—just focused on admitting immediately without educating caregivers.
I connected to some staff, who provided insight into how poorly the organization is managed and how they portray it to the team and their board, which has no clue how they are doing.
I saw a paid interview in El Paso Inc. and researched since we can get tax returns online. The comments by the current CEO do not make sense or match their tax return.
He mentioned bankruptcy, which makes no sense looking at the bank's assets and over five million dollars. So, I contacted some previous staff members via Linkedin. They provided great insight and will be doing open records requests.
I do not recommend utilizing this Hospice or donating.

Miserable. They refused to answer my dad's inquiries and put me off as well despite having medical power of attorney. I was in a bad place or would have pushed more. When my mother was in better place and we asked to take him home, he miraculously became "combatative" and had to be sedated. He never really woke after and only opened eyes when struggling to breathe. Care was sluggish in these urgent moments. They suggested giving pain care in half doses more frequently then did not give on schedule.

The main director who I cannot name due to the policy of this website gives out a standard of prescriptions to each and every one of her patients without properly assessing their individual needs.

Do not let these people cause you, or your family unnecessary traumas like they have caused me and my family.

Your family member most likely will not be comfortable, and when you inform them that, they do not care. They only want the DNR.

This is far from a "non-profit ministry" when one of the main "doctors" also has her "ministry" located at her personal address. Ministries could not morally do what these people have done multiple times to me, and other families.

From day one these people lied to us just to get us to sigh on the dotted line. They have to be the rudest medical personnel I have had the pleasure to deal with. Theirs only goal was to keep him all drug up on downers and moriphin. They would not keep him on the same medication that his oncologists had put him on at least 3years ago.and work for his stage 4 cancer They told us they would but as soon as we signed on the dotted line everything changed and the morphine they were giving him did not work for his cancer which has spread throughout his body. We made the decision to change companies and are now with Elara caring. They are the best group of people. They are kind so very helpful. I would recommend them to anyone. When we fired them they went so low as to call in to adult services. But the gentleman who came to our home immediately recognized that they were rolling around in the mud to report us. The only good thing to come out of this, is the wonderful care he is now receiving. This is just my opinion but you need to be on your guard when hiring someone to care for your love one.
