Mission: Heav operates from a biblical worldview and 1) provides encouragement, support and information to parents and support group leaders on home education, the virginia law, pending legislation and court cases; 2) works to protect the constitutional rights of parents to teach their children at home through legislative initiatives and contact the legislators; and 3) informs the public, educators, and legislators on the benefits and constitutionally of home education.

Programs: Convention: provides workshops, resources, information, instruction, a high school graduation ceremony, and support to homeschool families. The event is held once a year.
publications: provides information and resources to members and the homeschool community through print and digital media, e. G. , magazines, newsletter, e-books, websites, brochures, flyers, posters, postcards, programs, and a manual.
homeschool support/outreach: provides materials, counseling, support and field trip opportunities to members and homeschool families; provides representation with colleges, universities, libraries and museums.
HEAV is an awesome organization that has a convention every year in June that is reasonably priced and jammed full of Awesome and motivational speakers who are great people. They also have a great children's program, exhibit hall, and used curriculum sale.
