I love this organization, they really care about the youth that they help.
I have worked with this organization for years. The work that all the staff does on a daily basis for the youth is incredible and from their hearts. Love Heritage and the team.
This organization does amazing work with the youth that they help. They have helped so many youth become better versions of themselves. Their team works so hard on a daily basis. Love them.
What Heritage does for the kids they serve is amazing. They truly care for the kids. I can't say enough great things about this organization. The service they provide for the youth that live in the homes is beyond what is asked of them. Thank you for serving the youth that you do.
A very special group of people at an amazing organization!!! We've been lovingly supporting Heritage for years and these little angels made gift baskets for the teens!!! We love you, Heritage!!
THANK YOU, HERITAGE, FOR ALL THAT YOU DO!!! KEEP SHINING THE LIGHT AND SPREADING LOVE AND BLESSINGS TO ALL THAT YOU SERVE.
CARF accredited, Highest designation on Guidestar and Seal of Transparency! SO PROUD to be a part of Heritage!!!
I volunteered at Heritage while I was a student at UCLA and heard about them from the Mindfulness Center at UCLA. Heritage takes really good care of the youth that they serve and they go ALL OUT with such fun, elaborate and entertaining annual events for youth and their families. I attended their Halloween Party last year and it was such a blast!! They had a whole haunted house set up and the staff dressed up in costumed to make it fun for the kids with amazing food and decor!!
I was a resident here about 10 years ago. I still have good memories of the staff and home, and I felt cared for and loved. I had been in 8 placements and Heritage was the best one of all! This place was a blessing to me at a time I felt alone, scared and in trouble. Thank GOD I was there and it was my final placement before I emancipated
I have collaborated with Heritage on their Vocational and Emancipation programs and can attest to the great service, wonderful mission and amazing leadership team!! GREAT JOB, Heritage!! Keep up the incredible work that you do :-)))
Participated in one of their cooking classes for foster youth! Great tribe of people who are doing innovative and out of the box activities with older foster youth! I volunteer when i can with their classes and workshops for foster youth
Heritage is a great organization that helps foster youth and actually care about the youth. Love them.
I have recently met the young ladies from this organization and the positive feed back from the youths were overwhelming. I look foward to working with an organization where the youth are achieving goals .
Heritage Homes Inc. continues to be my favorite organization to be apart of. The Heritage Team continues to move in a positive direction to help inspire, encourage, and prepare our young youth for their future journeys.
As a volunteer I have had the pleasure with working with Heritage Group Homes . The staff are easy to communicate with and make the experience with working with kids a good one. The youth have had a special impact in my life and I will continue to reach out and support Heritage Group Homes. They really have shown me that the children count!
I knew someone that went here a few years back more like 15 years ago I can see that the group home changed from the comments I read here but my friends experience wasn't so great with heritage because curtain staff were lacking and I experienced when she use to have visits the staff make up excuses not bring her tell there family members over phone outta lazy excuses why and we had to go get her and curtain staff I notice use to brake character and act out rudely I had to ball one out of the phone saying hey lazy idiot ! Do your job neck if they hired me I be better at doing your job then you do and superviser from there called me saying you toll my staff off I said because I needed to talk to her about a sad sistuation and seem like staff didn't care sadly but anyway glad see that this group home now having staff act more positive cause back in the day I said I never work for that group home not the way there treating those kids oh heck no !
I had multiple placements before being with Heritage. They are one of the best places that a foster kid can live. The group home I was places was in Phillips Ranch, the house has the feeling of a Home. The staff made me feel very welcomed and safe. I can never thank them enough for helping me when I was at the lowest point in my life. They helped me active my goal in getting my High School Diploma. At my graduation all my staff and people that did not have to attend did attend to support me. They are wonderful people, Heritage helped me more then any other place has. I will always be grateful for what they do and how they treat their kids. I love them.
Thank you for letting the UCLA Psych Club volunteer and join in your wonderful event! We LOVED cooking and playing games and would be honored to come out again anytime you could use an extra hand!!! The whole organization is GOOD VIBES!! Thank you from my cousin, who you took care of a year years ago... this review is from Natasha M!
Heritage exceeds all expectations and standards for serving foster youth and I am delighted to donate and support such a great group of warm-hearted , hard working people who always go the extra mile to make children feel loved and cared for. Thank you for the work that you do
I have watched from a far this nonprofit do amazing work with their youth. I have donated to this organization and I know that my donation will be used towards their youth. I love their work and how compassionate their staff is towards their youth. Keep up the great work you do for your youth.
I have been in several group homes, and I can say that this agency by far is the best. The homes are clean and beautifully decorated. The atmosphere feels like a home and not a facility. The staff genuinely care about the kids, and you can see that the kids have bonded with them.
The organization is doing amazing work with the kids. Their staff really cares for the Kids, the board takes the time to actually make an impact in the kids lives. Love their work.
I volunteer at Heritage at least twice a month. Some great things that we have done in the past few months is holiday bear give-a-away, cooking classes and lots of activities and events that support foster youth.
I really enjoy being a part of this incredible group of people and sharing time with the boys and girls. They are teens but I still enjoy playing games and doing activities with them.
I worked here for 2 years back a few years ago. Loved the holistic philosophy and how we were trained to focus on the needs of the youth. I also appreciated the loving, caring and compassionate nature of all the management staff and directors.
I gained valuable insights and experience from my work at Heritage!
Heritage Group Homes has been a great experience for me. I would recommend Heritage to any other youth that wish to succeed in life. It's a great opportunity to learn skills for life. Their program is very supportive to all youth from different family backgrounds.
They are a great place and do amazing work with the youth that they serve. I am truly grateful for their service to me and my family. I could not be where I am today if it was not for them.
I am impressed with the great work Heritage does for foster youth. The atmosphere is positive and you can tell that they care.
I came to Heritage when I was 17 years old. This was the first time I was ever placed in a group home and I was scared. I had heard so many bad stories from other girls that had lived in a group home. Once I arrived I noticed that the house was actually a home. I met the staff that became more then a staff but more of mentors to me while living there. The home was my home, I felt safe and welcomed. The people working for Heritage helped me and guided me through transitional housing. They helped me move into my apartment. Not only did they mentor me while living the home but once I moved into my transitional housing they kept in touch with me and offered help when I needed. They were still part of my life even after I left the home. To this day I appreciate what they did for me and knowing they are still there if I need advice is a great feeling.
I emancipated from Heritage last year and went into transitional housing. I stayed in touch with the staff and agency, even after moving out, and continued to receive help, guidance and support. I visited almost daily after school at one point just because it is the only family that I know.
After I finished my two years at transitional housing, I was required to move out and the County helped me locate an apartment and helped me with assistance to pay rent but I could not afford any furniture and did not have even a mattress to sleep on. The staff at Heritage donated a bunch of stuff to me such as dishes, mattress, towels, silverware, bedding and other items that I needed. The thing that really blew me away is that they helped me set up a Go Fund Me page that raised almost $8,000 in apartment furnishings and this is what my place looks like now!!!
I am so proud to come home and could not have imagined in a million years that I would have my own place and it would look so incredible!! I could never have accomplished this on my own and I would not be where I am today without their help and support. The staff at Heritage, especially Maria, Sandi and Deonne, realllllly go above and beyond! I feel that I will always have them in my life and if I am ever in trouble or need anything, I know that I can count on them. I have grown so much as a person having these wonderful people in my life. They are tough, and expect a lot out of the kids but in return, they helped me and the other girls accomplish more than we thought that we could. Heritage doesn't let any of the kids give up on themselves, thank God! And so happy that they didn't give up on me or let me quit when I was struggling! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I have sponsored events for Heritage and had the opportunity to meet the staff and kids that they work with! always a positive and fun experience. They really seem to go all out for the kids and it is good to know that the community can count on these good people to give from their hearts and make the kids lives better!
I am happy to help whenever needed!!
I was a youth residing at the Whittier facility and am so grateful that I landed at a Heritage home! I was 16 when I was placed and a very depressed, confused, angry girl. My one saving grace was that I had always been a good student but being placed in foster care destroyed my will and I no longer cared about school.
I felt cared for in a gentle and kind way by all the staff, especially the leadership team. They were so interested in my potential, future and helping me adjust, heal, become healthy emotionally and psychologically. Through their eyes and effort, I could see myself as someone better, stronger, capable and wanted the future they painted for me so I got back on track!! I finished High School and started volunteering at Heritage, then I finished college and started working at Heritage as an employee all the way through my Masters program. I am now in the doctorate program, no longer work at Heritage but I serve on the Board of Directors as the President and Chair.
When I think of my Heritage family, the words compassion, kindness, commitment and quality of service comes to mind. Our motto is "Kindness and Compassion in Action" and each person at this organization lives this motto every day. The culture has been set as being very generous in all regards; with the employees, the youth, the volunteers, community and family members of the youth. It's like they wrap their warm arms of love around everyone who walks through the doors and it is felt and appreciated.
The lessons and wisdom taught to the the youth go beyond just basic self-care, counseling, independent living skills and relationship building. While all those are important, Heritage goes further and has a holistic approach that includes things such as yoga classes, creative photography studio, meditation practices, healthy diet and cooking workshops, a community garden that the youth work on and a strong mentoring program that involves leaders and business owners who take kids under their wing.
I will always consider Heritage as family and can attest to the affect these wonderful people have had on my life and success as an adult. I was raised here and now living the life that they envisioned for me and helped me create.
Here is a picture of me when I was 16 taken at the Whittier facility and one now... yes, I have come a long way thanks to Heritage!!
What a fantastic organization! It is great to see an organization like this reach out to our kids in need. I have the greatest respect for them and thank Heritage Group Homes for their generous heart. Best of luck on your mission!
I volunteer at this non-profit and the thing that amazes me is how much they all care about the kids that they serve and go out of their way to make the facilities look like regular teen homes! So many of the staff have been there decades and the kids really seem bonded and connected with the people who work there.
I help do some handy work, paint now and then or hang pictures requiring special tools. I don't know of any other organization that does as much for the kids as this one when it comes to quality of care, and my work has worked at other larger facilities in the past, we are now retired. I can't say enough good things! Thank you all for the good work that you do for the kids and the community!
This organization has the most caring and helpful leadership team with such a high retention of staff and volunteers!! The staff in management have been employed for 10-15+ years and all are committed to caring and quality.
I love their mission and vision statement "Kindness and Compassion in Action" and I have been serving on the Board since this year. Heritage Group Homes serves abused foster youth and changes young lives through their program and also through the engagement and commitment of their people.
