Asked for help. Was scolded. When it was brought to the attention of the business itself (not knowing the original email was from the owner/operator)- was scolded, then name called. Just needed information, got a verbal assault. Looks like not much has changed from a few years ago. Take your donations to a place that has integrity.

Recently we tried to re-home our dog and reached out to Helping Hand Rescue. This is the emailed response we got from Helping Hand Rescue...

"This has to be a joke, right?
Your excuses are the most ridiculous I've gotten in all my years of rescue.
All rescues are full
All shelters are full
Keep the living being you promised to care for.
What's taking up your time right now is the new baby as you implied.
Rehome the child.
Sounds harsh doesn't it?
Now you know what rescuers at shelters hear on our end when people like you reach out when the "no time" and "new baby excuse" come up a million times a day when the truth is You're simply too lazy to care of a life that solely depends on you for it to survive...
Good luck with that kid for the next 18 or more years.... You may not be aware of this but they suck the life, money and time out of you too... And 10 times more than any animal would.
If you keep tripping over a black dog in the middle of the night, get a freaking night light. You do have electricity don't you? Be an adult
Use common sense. Good grief!
I've also copied the shelter you got the dog from
They have the right to know what you're doing.... You should be ashamed of yourself"

I have 3 beautiful dogs that I've rescued over the past decade. One found me, and the other two were my first two attempts to foster.
I didn't learn the first time, luckily. Because we're ALL a very happy pack-family.
*Never give up because I was successful since in several other foster-to-home cases, with several Happy-ever-afters now
