Mission: The harmony project enriches the community through its message that diverse people can work together for the purpose of serving others. Through arts and education service programming the harmony project builds a stronger community and encourages people to serve their community. The goal of the harmony project: one community where every vioce is heard. Harmony for all.
Programs: Sing - harmony project choir - 200 voice community choir under the direction of professional directors and artists present high-impact concerts engaging thousands of audience members annually. Performances are held at local columbus ohio venues and are supported by a 15-piece band of professional musicians. Music is as diverse as the choir membership, no auditions or music ability is required, however, community service is required of all choir members. The concerts proliferate the mission of the harmony project by uniting neighbors and neighborhoods around common causes and service intiatives (building housing, cleaning inner-city recreation centers, serving meals, planting trees). Hundreds of volunteers participated in the service projects serving audiences of thousands. Commons in harmony - music and social engagement programming for homeless adults and those transitioning from shelters to permanent housing in collaboration with the community shelter board. Commons in harmony works with residents of communities to provide social interaction, professional singing, performance coaching and to create opportunities for intercultural interaction for the participants. Hundreds of individuals participate. Kids in harmony - arts and service afterschool programs for elementary age students. More than 70 children are enrolled in this program. South high harmony - is a weekly afterschool arts and community service program at south high school in columbus ohio, in collaboration with city year columbus, to increase self-esteem, self-efficacy and community engagement among at-risk urban youth. Performances have included state of the city addresses, the city year national convention, and a performance in washington dc. Over 100 children participate in this program.
servecommunity in harmony - volunteer community service working side-by-side with friends, neighbors, family, non-profit organizations, for-profit corporations and local government. This work unites neighbors and neighborhoods. Investment is made in local communities through neighborhood specific volunteer projects such as landscaping and planting trees, painting and installing art, building homes and playgrounds, providing foster children with new bicycles, staffing food banks and serving at homeless shelters. Thousands of volunteers participate in the program and serve many. Inside-out - weekly arts progrmam at ohio reformatory providing women serving a sentence an opportunity to serve a purpose by sharing their voices in a music therapy program. Approximately 110 women are served in this program.

Focus is given on community challenges and document what can be accomplished when neighbors work together. The documentary is shared across the city of columbus and around the globe to inspire other communities to connect art with service and to become engaged in their own communities. Tens of thousands of people have witnessed the programs.
