Mission: GRID Alternatives Mid-Atlantic brings together community partners, volunteers and job trainees to implement solar power and energy efficiency for low-income families in Maryland, D.C., Virginia and Delaware, providing energy cost savings, valuable hands-on experience, and a source of clean, local energy that benefits us all.

Target demographics: GRID Alternatives Mid-Atlantic brings together community partners, volunteers and job trainees to implement solar power and energy efficiency for low-income families.
Direct beneficiaries per year: We saw three cohorts complete our Solar Works DC program - an intensive job training program that prepares participants for entry-level solar installation jobs. We installed over 880 kW of solar, which will mitigate roughly 3,615 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. By the end of 2018, we will have provided the benefits of solar energy to over 46 homes and over 200 affordable housing complex units!
