Mission: The greenlining institute works to bring the american dream within reach of all, regardless of race or income. In a nation where people of color will make up the majority of our population by 2043, america will prosper only if communities of color prosper.
Programs: Leadership academy - the greenlining academy works to empower and develop the next generation of multi-ethnic leaders to advance racial and economic equity and create positive social change. We seek to develop a network of visionary leaders ready to work across racial and ethnic lines to address america's most pressing problems and develop sustainable solutions rooted in equity and justice.
energy/telecom - works to make sure that people at all income levels have access to affordable electric, gas, and information and communications technology services.
environmental equity: greenlining develops policies to improve public health and environmental quality for low-income communities and communities of color while bringing "green" dollars to these communities.
economic equity (bimp) - empowering communities of color through homeownership, minority-owned businesses, financial industry and regulatory accountability to ensure that public and private policies allow all communities to realize their full economic potential. Health - brings the voices of communities of color into critical decisions that effect all of our lives and health. Greenlining efforts in this area include health care reform, insurer accountability, and health industry diversity. Claiming our democracy (cod)- to do this well, the voices and experiences of communities of color must be able to inform the dialogue. Greenlining works to make government more effective by bringing the voices of communities of color into the democratic process.
