Caroline Dawn Pennington, the CEO of GROWL, was arrested after 28 dead dogs & 2 dead cats were found decomposing, locked in cages in her house.

Be careful who you give money and/or animals to.

I am having trouble believing any of the good reviews here.

I would not have my precious baby Mona without GROWL! I don't know what I would ever do without her. Thanks GROWL! :)

GROWL rescued our pup Tex from a kill shelter. He was the sweetest, kindest boy who we had 11 amazing years with because of this great organization. Thank you for saving our boy!

I adopted Lilo from Growl December 2, 2015. He went from almost being put down to having the best life! I had been looking to adopt a small dog and no one was getting back to me. I had such a great experience with Dawn from the beginning. I started volunteering with her rescue and it opened my eyes. What Dawn does for these animals is absolutely amazing.!

I adopted my first "foster fail" Holly from Growl about 10 years ago she fit into my home like a glove and became my heart along with my Pitty boy Busa. Holly had horrible dental care prior to being brought to the shelter and once in my care GROWL addressed it and she had the majority of her teeth removed but it didn't stop her from eating like a vacuum! Over the years she was one of 3 pups I've adopted from Growl. Cocoa and Buddy came afterwards and they make up my pack now. All 3 have been senior pups and only Buddy has a heart murmur which was fully disclosed to me prior the adoption, it doesn't effect his or my quality of life at all! The adoption process is always smooth and easy, and they take time to assure the right family is suitable for that specific pup. I also foster from time to time when asked because they do such amazing work with these "misfit" pups, seniors and silly one eyed, tongue hanging out, 3 legged babies that no one else rescues! GROWL is always my first referral for anyone seeking a smaller pup since such care is taken when making the pup to family connection fit. I highly recommend GROWL for a furever best friend :)

GROWL has made a tangible difference for animals in need from coast to coast over the years. The director inspires people to join her in valiant rescue efforts and missions many would consider too hard or just plain crazy. In the end it is all about the animals and pulling out all the stops to save a life. No matter what endeavor GROWL takes on you always know they try their hardest to do the right thing and help as many people and animals as possible.

I fostered for Dawn as well as adopted from her rescue. Dawn is dedicated to rescue and the animals well being. She is hard-working and always there no matter what time you message her to answer questions. These qualities make her rescue what it is today...Awesome!

GROWL is the most amazing animal rescue!!! Dawn works so hard helping animals find their furever homes!!! We adopted Brandee for my aunt who lived all alone and also helped a friend adopt a great dog as well. I think almost everyone in my town either has a dog from GROWL or has helped another family adopt through GROWL. I highly recommend them if you are looking to for a pet to bring some love into your house!!!

This is one of the most dedicated, caring rescues I have ever come across. Dawn fights to be a voice for all animals but her specialty is finding a place for the "underdogs", the hard cases. Growl is an incredible rescue and provides a much needed service in many communities.

Global Rescue Welfare League known as GROWL is an awesome animal rescue. I know first hand they're very caring and do the best for the animals. If you have a chance to adopt from GROWL they won't disappoint you or the animal.

I lost my Cocker Spaniel and was blessed to find a puppy with Dawn Pennington. Ellie Mae filled that missing part of my heart that I lost when Baby crosses the rainbow bridge. 2 1/2 years later I stepped out on faith and rescued another cocker, Hannah after an attempted foster. Hannah stole my heart and I knew I was her people.

Global Rescue Welfare League is a rescue that is ran with a heart. It’s an honest rescue and does the best for the animals. They rescue a lot of animals that need love, have been neglected and want a loving home. I recommend GROWL Rescue because of their reputation of caring for the animals with a heart. GROWL rescues for the animal’s not the money because most of their rescues need extensive medical. All my support and donations goes to this rescue and always will. You’ll never find a more honest and caring rescue as GROWL.

GROWL is an amazing rescue group! They have saved so many animals from rural southern shelters and given them a second chance at life. Most of these dogs would have likely been euthanized otherwise. GROWL does a great job of screening potential adopters to make sure they are suitable pet owners. I prefer to donate to smaller groups such as GROWL because I have seen firsthand where the donations go - directly to the animals in their care. I will always be a strong supporter of GROWL and highly recommend them to anyone looking to add a pet to their family or considering an animal rescue group for your donations.

I adopted a dog from GROWl only to discover after having bloodwork done at my Vet's office after adoption that the dog was heartworm positive. Of course GROWL provided documentation and guarantees that the dog was tested and was heartworm negative when I adopted him. Weeks later this was proved to be false. When told about the issue, the owner of GROWL denied the claim, told me my vet was lying and that the laboratory that did the blood testing was lying. She said anything to not take responsibility for selling dogs with major diseases. There are so many good, reputable and decent organizations out there that rescue dogs and cats and stand by their word, not just hustle your money from you, please adopt from any one of them but not from GROWL.
