Mission: The primary focus of garden state consumer credit counseling, inc. ("navicore solutions"), a non-profit organization, is to stengthen the well-being of individuals and families through education, guidance, advocacy, and support. Our most significant actitivies include housing counseling, credit counseling, bankruptcy counseling, health and wellness counseling, and education and other outreach programs. Finally, for those individuals who qualify, the company maintains a debt management program.
Programs: Housing:our certified housing counselors provide free foreclosure prevention counseling services to homeowners in need. This includes post modification counseling in an effort to help sustain modified repayment terms. Our counseling includes a thorough budget analysis and communication with servicers in an attempt to facilitate a resolution for the homeowner, when applicable. In addition, we provide pre-purchase counseling, as well as reverse mortgage (hecm) counseling for a fee. During the period, we provided housing counseling assistance to 39,827 individuals, along with resources and educational material. Our organization serves as a key resource for the national anti-scam program whereby we are collecting data relative to scam organizations, directly from homeowners. This data is accessible to the lawyers committee, state attorney generals, ftc, etc. In 2014, we captured scam related data on behalf of 3,063 victims of a scam.
debt management program:we provide a debt management program to those individuals who are overextended and require assistance in managing their finances and unsecured debt and will ultimately benefit from this activity. We design and implement a payback plan, intercede with creditors, and receipt and disburse funds to creditors on behalf of those individuals. During the period we provided debt management services to 22,778 individuals along with appropriate educational materials.
counseling & education:our certified counselors provide extensive counseling and financial education services to families and individuals in need. Our counseling includes a thorough budget analysis and the development of an action plan supported by resources and education material. During the period, we provided counseling to 12,816 new individuals and distributed 149,666 pieces of education material through our counseling services, excluding material distributed as part of our community outreach work.
