A friend recommended the Furniture Bank when we had furniture and household items to donate. What a great nonprofit! Our furniture was given directly to those in need--people coming out of homelessness, so we loved that our items had a direct and positive impact. We were even more impressed when we learned that Furniture Bank hires veterans to collect and distribute furniture. Our entire experience was excellent!
The Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta made it extremely easy to donate our furniture! My husband and I had several furniture items to donate and we were searching for an organization with a great cause. One of our friends told us about the Furniture Bank and it was the perfect fit! Since learning about the organization, we have donated numerous times. From scheduling pick ups to staff members and volunteers, every encounter has been wonderful. My husband and I are quick to tell anyone looking to give (or will listen) about the Furniture Bank! I want to encourage anyone with items, time or money to donate to consider this organization. I know our family will continue to support!
Furniture Bank of Atlanta made it very easy for my family to donate! Scheduling the pick up of our items was a breeze and they arrived right on time. It seems professionally run- rare for a non-profit! I love donating to organizations that ensure our items make into the hands of Atlantans that truly need it! Planning on donating more!
Having donated furniture to the Furniture Bank in the past and so pleased with the overall organization, I want to continue to support this wonderful cause. I do not have furniture to donate at this time, but know that financial donation is always appreciated.. Just recently they sponsored a 5k and "bed race" to raise funds and awareness for the Furniture Bank. I made a donation and I immediately I received such a heart felt thanks from their team and photos from the event. These folks are great!
I have had a chance to work hands on with the staff of the furniture bank and with the clients. There is no better feeling than knowing that you are helping people out of the sincere kindness of your heart, and this company creates the opportunity to partake in that sentiment everyday. The looks on the family's faces is priceless as they walk away with things that they otherwise may have went without just because of certain circumstances which are many times out of their control. Lastly, what I like most about this experience is that I became one of the guys on my first day helping out, and the entire team has such a winning, 'jump on in here' attitude. The pride that they take in their job and in the products they provide (because they are far from shabby by the way) is priceless. Three words to describe the Furniture Bank of Metro Atlanta; compassion, selflessness, & family. -Al Smith
30 years of living in the same house and much had accumulated in the attic. Someone recommended we call Atlanta Furniture Bank. And what a great recommendation it was! They were easy to contact, appeared promptly on the scheduled time and date, and did a terrific job. Everybody was friendly, helpful and appeared to really enjoy what they were doing. They told me in advance that there would be a $10 charge to get things out of my attic (can you imagine? only $10. best $10 I ever spent).
We benefited because it was convenient, saved much manual labor and time, and made us feel like we were helping instead of just throwing away. Bravo Atlanta Furniture Bank!
I had several pieces of furniture to donate and sent an email to the Furniture Bank of Atlanta. I received a call the following day to set up a pick up. Their drivers arrived at my house as scheduled and were extremely polite and were very careful removing the furniture from my home. They had my donor receipt with them so I had that for tax time and thanked me for my donation. I will definately donate to them again. It is so helpful that they come to pick up and I don't have to haul the furniture to them.
I had exactly the same experience. I called them twice over a couple of months to donate some furniture which was also in pretty good shape, but they never even called back!
I hate to post a review of an organization that has such a great mission, but their execution has fallen flat two times in my experience. My hope is that the Furniture Bank learns from this and improves. About two years ago, we purchased a new couch and wanted to donate our old one to the furniture bank. short of a dime sized stain on the arm, it was in perfect condition. after 1 phone call we never heard back from the furniture bank and made our donation elsewhere. we have recently moved and have a bedroom set in very good condition and a few occasional living room tables that are in perfect shape to donate. We attempted to contact again using the Furniture Banks online donations form. it has now been 3 weeks and we have not received so much as a phone call, email....nothing. This should be a great organization - one I would not only donate items to but, once they picked up would certainly consider for a cash donation. But no more. I hope they raise their level of customer service and realize how many donations of items, cash and potential good will this lack of service is passing them buy.
