FAIR (Foundation for Asthma & Immune Research, a 501c3 Charitable
Trust) was originally formed in 1988 "to provide an environmentally
and ecologically safe location for people with multiple chemical
sensitivities (MCS) and/or respiratory disabilities to obtain
temporary housing and recreational services to assist in their
rehabilitation and subsequent return to a cautiously normal
lifestyle." To support this FAIR successfully applied for grants,
purchased 23 acres of ecologically safe land and assisted over 20
live-in MCS clients at the safe site in Dewey, AZ, and hundreds of
other clients at a far-infrared free trial facility in Prescott, AZ.
FAIR's new, expanded vision intends to serve anyone seeking
rejuvenation and better health through self-empowerment and lifestyle
harmonized with nature. To support this FAIR will "establish
Integrated Wellness Centers, housing, recreational facilities and
local organic food production in sustainable communities to model,
educate and inspire holistic principles and improve quality of life."
FAIR receives tax-deductible contributions and allocates funds to
other organization(s) of its choosing, such as MIGUN--Jade Thermatics
and, potentially, The Enclave Center for Sustainable Living (TECSL).
TECSL builds and/or supports establishment of model sustainable living
communities, for research and education purposes (see mission
statement). It partners with other entities to provide certain
businesses as key collaborators, in affiliation with TECSL's Center
for Higher Education and Wellness. Possible collaborators include
local colleges, universities, and a Wellness Center provider.
Because of its interests as a TECSL funder, FAIR may negotiate a role
with TECSL such as overseeing design and use of wellness facilities
and services. TECSL's affiliated for-profits such as The Enclave at
Anza LLC, TEA, may lease and/or provide land, develop infrastructure
(utilities, roads, etc), set overall design standards, and provide or
contract building construction that meets the for-profits', FAIR's and
TECSL's mutually agreeable sustainability and business requirements.
TECSL contracts with entities like TEA to develop land, infrastructure
and buildings at Anza and elsewhere in support of the TECSL mission.
It also contracts The Enclave Services Group (TESG) to centralize
administration and professional services that it provides TEA and
other entities.
