I live in Marysville so I qualified for the snap program. My baby is a nice, beautiful, indoor female cat. But not anymore, field haven completely cut her ear off. They didn't even clean her ears. They didn't flea dip her. The night before surgery I combed 3 fleas off her. After her surgery, she came home with tons. They never microchipped her. They gave me a chip to put on a collar. They told me to make my own cone to go around her head, to prevent her from irritating her surgical wound. I'm not even sure she got her shots. This was such a a bad experience, I won't send my male to get fixed. I honestly can't believe they cut my cat's whole ear off. She no longer looks beautiful. She now looks disabled. What was these people thinking to do something so bad. They didn't just snip her ear. They cut it completely off

I volunteered to trap-neuter- return for a large unmanaged feral cat colony that turned out to be even larger than described. We needed to secure more foster homes for all the kittens. My trapping partner, whom I’d just met, knew some folks at Field Haven and they hopped into action for us. They were able to take more kittens than any other single organization that helped us. Thanks Fieldhaven!

My hubby & I lost everything in the Camp Fire (Novemer 8, 2018). We were searching for 3 of our kitties...1 indoor, 2 outdoor. We found that FieldHaven had taken in one of our beloved outdoor ones. I called & was let known when we could pick him up.
We were so excited!! And relieved. They took amazing care of him. Even answered more questions after we brought him home. They have gone above & beyond to help put our family back together!!
I thank them. My hubby thanks them. Major Mooshu Melon-head thanks them, too!
BTW he is now a spoiled indoor kitty, who sleeps on his dad's bed!!

I love Fieldhaven for numerous reasons. First of all, I now have the 2 sweetest cats in the world who were socialized in a wonderful
foster home organized by Fieldhaven. Second, all of the workers and volunteers LOVE cats and have their best interests at heart. My mom volunteers there every week and they provide nothing but the highest quality of care for all of their kittens and cats. Third, they set up times with my daughters’ Girl Scout troop to learn more about their facility and to play with/socialize the cats. Fourth, their facility for the cats in their care is top of the line. They are a fantastic organization that I would and do support without a second thought!

Fieldhaven is such a wonderful place, I adopted two of my precious cats from them. They take such good care of animals, especially cats. They have such a love for them. Their facility is clean and well run. Fieldhaven is the only place I adopt my cats from. I trust them the most! The staff is so kind and so helpful! I highly recommend fieldhaven.

We have been able to help TNR with the help of Fieldhaven. They rented us traps and then set up days we could just drop off the cats with them and they took them to be neutered! We also got help with the feral kittens that we have taken in from them and they hold low cost shot and microchip clinics in our rural town of Wheatland. They are a great caring place. Thank you for all you do Fieldhaven!

I have been a financial donor to Fieldhaven for over 10 years and a volunteer since 2014.

In 2017, Fieldhaven found permanent homes for over 900 cats and provided financial and oversight support for hundreds more in their spay and neuter program.

As a volunteer, I work side by side with the carefully selected professional staff. They deal with the victory and defeat of animal care and rescue everyday and I call them all, heros.

Although what they do is good, if you have to work with Jen (coordinator), she is rude and nasty and makes promises that she cannot keep. When you call upon those promises she pretends to not know what you are talking about and even goes to the extent of pretending she does not know who you are. Then she says cruel things to you like, "let the cat out on the highway for all I care" "or we don't have room for it" (and the cat is very ill!) even though she just got done telling another person to bring the cat in. I have no clue how this person is still working at this organization any more.

I had volunteered with them 2 years ago, offering transport for the cats to and from Yuba City, Marysville, Auburn clinic, and some of the areas in between. (Did I mention that I paid for the gas for all of the transports, out of my own pocket!) When I had first approached them, Jen (coordinator) was kind and sweet. Said that she could help with spay/neuter as long as any other services where paid for our of my own pocket, yet every time I brought in a group of kittens, I was dropping hundreds into all of the services. I had to pitch a fit with Jen (coordinator) every single time just to get her to honor what she said she was going to do in the first place. They built the feral sanctuary and I had "filled out the paperwork online" for every single cat in a colony I was helping with, so they had a safe place to go. Not only did I have to come out of pocket 100% for all of their services, but she kept bumping me with excuses that this facility or that facility needed it more, etc., etc. They were unadoptable kittens and she sits there and plays god as to which cat lives and dies. I had to end up keeping them, she NEVER, triaged them or registered them into the facility! To me, if you are going to have an organization for the good of the kitties, there should never be fights as to the why, when's and where's, it should just be let's see what we can do to figure it out. Not bashing me and making me feel like because she can't remember what she says to someone yesterday, that I am the bad person, and its all my fault. She has never taken accountability for her actions and I have recordings of her acting like this on the phone with me!

Like I said, I have no problem with the organization at all! There was a person in my area that did not have a car so I offered to drop the trapped cat off for them and when I called it was just bash after bash, after bash. I mean really she speaks to people like this! Abuses people who are desperate for help with the cats and she is just rude and nasty to people. Turning all of her misgivings around to the person and making them feel like it is their fault that the cat is strayed in the first place. After everything I did for them and all the time I donated to them! I have no clue how she gets away with talking/treating people like that and no one comes forward to say anything! People need to start saying something. I even had my relatives donating hundreds to them a month because I believed in them, and they still do donate, and that is the treatment I get!

I caught a feral kitten near my house. My family and I were able to start taming the kitten, but we could not keep it. Fieldhaven took him in and gave him the care he needed. I am so happy they were able to provide a safe, healthy place for him. The people are very nice and show real love and dedication to their work.

I am a volunteer at FieldHaven but also have adopted two cats from there. Both experiences have been wonderful. My youngest kitty is from a group of 60 kitties rescued by FieldhHaven from a hoarding situation where the cats did not have vaccinations and weren't neutered. 60 cats is a lot to take on but FieldHaven made it work. My kitty needed medical care and received the finest, including eye surgery. FieldHaven's commitment to help all of their cats goes so far beyond what you can imagine that you may find the staff scouring a rice field for a cat spotted with a jar on its head or out in the middle of the night trying to rescue newborns and their mother. I volunteer there because I want to help kitties but also to be around special people who make miracles happen.

Fieldhaven Feline Rescue is a wonderful, caring organization that does so much more than placing rescue cats with forever families. They give outstanding care to the cats and recognize each cat for its unique personality and needs. They really care about their cats and make sure the cats are going to suitable homes before an adoption takes place. They also do follow-up to make sure the placement is going well. When I adopted my kitten she had a large folder showing the medical care she needed. It was amazing to me that my perfectly healthy cat had gone through so much. Fieldhaven really went the extra mile to take care of her. She was in a foster family setting and they were wonderful too. Each cat is also neutered and microchipped before adoption and a free vet visit is given to be used the first week of adoption just to make sure everything is okay. The cats who are rescued are really lucky and so are the families who get the cats. The staff is so wonderful and caring and I am grateful to them for uniting me with my youngest family member.

I would agree with all the reviews prior to 2014. However, in 2014 a total breakdown of organizational structure occurred. The Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary of the Board of Directors as well as the Bookkeeper all resigned. These were all highly respected professionals and pillars of the community. During this same time period "key" volunteers that played major roles in the operation of this organization felt the need to leave. Over the few months prior to that the Director of Operations, Shelter Manager, and Volunteer/Foster Coordinator were all terminated. Instead of the Board consisting of professionals as before, according to their website, the board now consists of the President (Founder), no Vice-Present, no Treasurer and no Secretary and the founder's business partner and two close friends make up the remainder of the board as "Members at Large". And instead of professional qualified operations staff, the day to day operations are conducted by various volunteers which includes being responsible for day to day medical protocols. The result was a totally unprofessional and unethical experience for me this time around.

We adopted two cats from FieldHaven five years ago. We love the boys and the joy they have brought to our family. We continue to suppport FieldHaven with book donations throughout the year - helps clean the closets, support our favorite pet charity - and give us a tax deduction to boot.

Now they have lowered their adoption fees and made it possible for more cats to find forever homes.

Continue the great work FieldHaven.

After losing one of our beloved senior cats and adopting an abandoned kitten, my husband and I went to FieldHaven to find a playmate for that newest member of the family. Our surving senior cat wanted nothing to do with the new kitten - so off to Fieldhaven we went. We fell in love immediately with a little tuxedo guy, who was just the right size to go with the kitten we had just found. But then my husband saw this Maine Coon mix - we was only a dew months old, but because he was so HUGE - no one was really thinking of him as a baby any longer. Well - to make matters more difficult - he was a love bug. So now how do we decide Maine Coon or little tuxedo guy. Jen helped us solve that problem - I think you guys need TWO new babies to go with the new kitten at home. Yup - we have sucker written on our faces... we adopted both of the cats... and four years later they still bring joy and love to our home. And the best news - the senior cat adapted to having them and that little abandoned kitten has grown to be a member of the pride also. Fieldhaven was there for us - and those cats. We love everyone we have ever met there. A wonderful group of volunteers.

I started out volunteering for FieldHaven because I was interested in volunteering for an animal rescue and it was the closest one to my house. Admittedly I am a dog person, but know the strong bond between animal and human, so the fact that it wasn't for dogs wasn't an issue. I started out doing callbacks for the folks who adopted our four legged fur people. I enjoyed hearing how their adopted cats were fitting in with the families. As time passed, I ended up on the board and am currently the board secretary. I have enjoyed every minute I have spent working for FieldHaven. I feel most proud about two things. Together with the volunteers we raised the funds to build a new state of the art shelter. It is the best shelter you will ever see. It's beautiful and makes the kitties feel like they are home prior to finding their forever home!! The second is that I am honored to be working with such a awesome group of volunteers, staff and other board members. Together we make FieldHaven the best cat shelter EVER! :)

From time to time my family and I have helped foster kittens until they are completely ready for adoption by a loving "forever" home. To hear some of the stories behind the rescue of most of the cats Fieldhaven has taken in is heart wrenching and, yet, heart warming. As a foster family, we are given everything we could ask for to insure our kittens are properly cared for. During the process of our fostering kittens, we are requested to bring our little furballs back in to Fieldhaven to have all the required veterinary care that guarantees each kitten is fit as a fiddle! The amazing part of Fieldhaven, to me, is their caring, warmth, compassion , and the genuine gratefulness they demonstrate each time I walk through their doors. They make everyone around them feel a part of something very special and for that I am thankful. Fieldhaven represents the kindness to cats that only angels could show.

I was looking for a working barn cat, but was steered to a little 3 yr. old female named Valley Girl. She had been homeless for at least a year, and so starved for attention, that when she got it, she didn't seem to be able to control her emotions and bit a couple of people. She was returned twice, but she fits in purr-fectly here - has never bitten or scratched and goes out hunting every day. She still is uncomfortable being held = perhaps from being target practice at some time in her past. She still has a BB in her and it gets sensitive sometimes, but she will jump up on my lap in the evenings and stay awhile, purring. Alice at Fieldhaven Rescue never gave up on her and I am so glad - they matched us up and we are both benefiting from it. They (especially Alice) check in often and have answers to any questions I might have. I couldn't speak more highly of any feline rescue place around.

I am a former non-profit worker (SPCA), and have found myself in the unfortunate position to have to re-home my own cat. While Fieldhaven is out of my area and unable to take my cat in at this time, they were nice enough to allow a courtesy listing to help me. If my cat were to go back to a shelter, this would be the best place for her to be, the shelter is small but beautiful and well kept. They have been nothing but nice to me and I donate whenever I can, they are definitely worthwhile.

Field Haven Feline Rescue is a great organization. I am a 62 year old single man who had a cat for 15 years when he got sick for the first time in his life. Unfortunately I did not have the money I needed to care for him so Field Haven helped me out with the money I needed for Puff. Unfortunately the kidney and pancreatic disease came back again and finally when he started loosing control of his bowels I had to take him back to the Vet to take him "over the bridge". It hurt me emotionally but I knew it was the best thing that I could do to stop his suffering. Tears came to me as I held his head watching his bright blue eyes turn to black. Field Haven was there when I needed help!

My daughters and I came to FieldHaven several months back looking to add to our family. We found BillyBoy (now Tigger) and love him tremendously. BillyBoy was a kitten that was fostered and was clearly very loved. He is the sweetest kitten ever and has been a perfect addition to our family. FelineHaven employees are very nice, we loved Jen. She helped us with the adoption and is in the process of having my daughter be a volunteer there for her community service hour requirements for HS. I hope to adopt another kitten soon and will definitely look to them again. The cats here are treated so well and have great accommodations. All cats should be so lucky!

I am very fortunate to serve on the Board of Directors of Fieldhaven Feline Rescue which handles each cat with love/respect. Their shelter is cutting edge but more importantly they work with an undeniable amount of caring for each and every cat that crosses their door. Their philisophy is that cat and animal care is vital for now just the animal but the communtiy as well. Education is the key and the committment to which they fulfill their work is without compromise.

I have been a volunteer with FieldHaven for over 5 years and the experience has been life changing. FieldHaven is one of the very few rescues that I know of in the Sacramento area that goes past adoption and provides community education and special programs directed at feral “community cats”. As part of the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) team I have personally been involved in trapping and spaying over 800 cats in our community. FieldHaven helps educate communities on how to manage feral populations by getting them spayed and vaccinated and reaping the benefits of rodent control in return for embracing a healthy, controlled population of free roaming community cats as part of their neighborhood. FieldHaven also runs a Barn Cat program to relocate feral cats from dangerous locations to safer locations with caretakers. The more time I volunteer at FieldHaven, the more inspired I am to take on more tasks. The board values every volunteer and client and listens to every suggestion and values our opinions. Everyone is very dedicated and the support and friendship offered by this organization has made it feel like an extended “family”.

FieldHaven will take in and make every effort to save those hard-to-place cats and kittens and give them shelter until adopted. As an example, we took in two orange tabby kittens that were found in a garbage dump. They were covered in feces, ringworm and fleas. They had been turned over to a local vet, who transported them to a local SPCA. Instead of euthanizing them, they contacted us on the chance that we could save them. They are thriving now! We do not euthanize. We have won the Best Non-Profit in the city of Lincoln, CA, for several consecutive years now. We have a small paid staff -- the rest of the "employees" are all volunteers. We have an extensive outreach program, enabling us to reach those who aren't able to come to our shelter. We also have an extensive on-line library of reference articles, and have referred many callers to specific writeups there. One of our main goals is education, as we make every effort to ensure responsible pet ownership. Another is our SNAP (spaying and neutering) program, offering low-cost procedures for our community's cats. We even transport them to and from the clinic, enabling those who have set working/commitment hours to have procedures done during those days.

In the 5 years I have been a volunteer with FieldHaven's feral cat program, we have rescued over 800 cats and kittens and gotten them safe and loving homes. FieldHaven takes great pride in the care and socializing of the cats & kittens they receive to be sure they are put in homes where they will be loved and safe and be a wonderful companion for the person or family who adopts them. We also help our community get their pets spayed & neutered so there is not a population of unwanted cats running loose causing health problems.

I have adopted 2 kittens from Fieldhaven. One in Dec 2010 and one in 2009. They took the time to get to know my family and make sure our kitten would be a good fit not only with me, but with my household. They also cared to make sure WE were right for the CAT and could meet the cats needs. We chose to go with Fieldhaven vs an SPCA or other shelter due to the fact that cats and kittens are as often as possible placed in foster homes. So when they match a cat with a family they actually know what they are doing. My 2009 kitten ended up having a medical condition that was impossible to detect early on, but they were professional and helpful in getting him treatment, and they were also very supportive when it came time for us to put him to sleep. The professionalism we have encountered can't be matched. The love the volunteers show the animals can't be beat and both my babies were (are) perfect for us. Thank you Fieldhaven!

Fieldhaven has been like a second home for me ever since I became a volunteer in August of 2006. I have loved the friendships that I have been able to form with other volunteers and with the staff members as well. This is not to mention the many many cat friends that I have had at Fieldhaven that I have help find their forever home. It does not matter whatever other problems that I might be going through each week, because I know once I am on my way to Fieldhaven I can almost close the door to the rest of the world around me and it's problems. This allows me to just have tons of fun each Monday when I visit Fieldhaven and spend time with the staff members, volunteer friends, and of course all of my feline friends as well. This is exactly why Fieldhaven is a very special place for me and I am very proud to be one of thier volunteers

In 2003 my sister and I wanted to help a local ranchowner in Lincoln, CA spay and neuter several dozen feral barn cats. As a result of our efforts we found several litters of tiny kittens. After containing them while their feral moms raised them, we socialized them and had them spayed/neutered; ready for new homes. The effort of finding them new homes was the launching point for what is now FieldHaven. Each year we place 300-400 cats and kittens in homes, spay and neuter over 700 community cats and help countless other cats and their owners through our CAT (community/cat assistance team) program. Each day I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many caring, dedicated and talented staff, volunteers, fellow board members and the supporting public. Please join me in my dream of saving more lives of homeless cats but supporting FieldHaven in any way you can.

I became involved with FieldHaven during a Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) project in my neighborhood. I live in a rural area quickly becoming overrun with feral cats. My neighbor started the project and I was happy to jump in. FieldHaven assisted us with traps, training, cages, free spay/neuter assistance, transporation, vacinations, and intake of tame cats. All in all, we processed over 50 cats just from our one street. I was so impressed with their dedication, love for animals, passion to make a difference, and outstanding shelter protocols, that I knew I wanted to be a part of this organization. I've been a volunteer at FieldHaven going on 4 years now. I started out doing TNR for others, and soon moved into Fostering, Adoption Counseling, Outreach, Newsletters, Graphic Assistance, and pretty much anything else they need. I am so proud to be part of the FieldHaven "family" and look forward to growing with the organization. If you've ever thought of volunteering, this is a great organization to be part of. If you've ever thought about adding a feline companion to your family, please check out FieldHaven kitties before you make a decision. We have strict health protocols to ensure you're getting the healthiest kitty possible, and you can't beat the post adoption support. Check out what FieldHaven is all about at www.fieldhaven.com. I think you'll be impressed at the difference a small organization can make.

I first came apon Fieldhaven when I was looking to adopt a cat.... 2 years have gone by since then, and i am proud to say I have 2 beautiful cats from Fieldhaven, and I am also a regular volunteer there. It's hard to believe that such a small orginazation could make such a difference. But they truly do, they have saved thousands of cats and kittens that would have otherwise been running around spreading diseases, having litters, and dying on the street... They are amazing people, and they are saving the world... One cat at a time ;)
