Mission: As an interfaith organization, for usa's mission is to organize, train and grow a diverse movement that welcomes all people of conscience to create peace and end structures of violence and war through the transformative power of nonviolence.
Programs: For's program, advancement & communications offices published and sent to thousands of supporters: 2 issues of for's national magazine, "fellowship; 2 issues of for's national newsletter, "witness; & 5 print appeal letters sent to thousands of supporters. For launched a new website and a new e-messaging platform, which supported the publication of 100+ website-based justice stories and action alerts; 80 mass e-messages to regional and national networks; & hundreds of original social media posts. Program/communications staff organized public events (such as education forums, nonviolence workshops, capacity-building trainings, and multi-faith worship services) that drew hundreds of participants; and coordinated interfaith peace delegations and staff deployments to sites of front-line struggle, both domestic and international. Program staff also designed and hosted or co-hosted 9 online briefing calls & webinars, providing first-person reports & trainings to hundreds of participants on headline peace & justice issues, launched a new podcast program, and staffed special events, including for's annual peace award ceremoniesother exempt purposes were accomplished through various program activities such as the "global day of action & prayer for syria; the "women confronting islamophobia" symposium; the "black lives matter from colombia to the us" national speaking tour; supporting the movement for black lives; organizing in support of indigenous sovereignty leaders resisting the dakota access pipeline in standing rock; and participation in our global structures of the international fellowship of reconciliation and the united nations. The organization strengthened for's network of local chapters and national faith ally organizations, now representing over 80 groups dispersed throughout the country (adding one new grassroots group during the year).
