These have to be the most ghetto people in a suit I have ever deal with. Very irresponsible, careless, and unprofessional staffs. Who do I blame... the director and the supervisor on the 3rd floor. Not once or twice, but every time I go there I have to wait at least 3-4 hours sometimes that's all day. I had either miss a whole day of work or was told not to come back in for that day because they moving slow.

Recently, in the middle of December I was notified by the aftercare my child attend, that my voucher from Family Central will be expire on the 24th of December. I'd immediately went to check my P.O Box to see did anything came from Family Central, "nothing". Some days later I'd check again "nothing". So I go to the office that Monday the week of the 24th around 4 o'clock. The lady at the front desk told they were closed. I replied, ok the website say 6 pm the last time you told 5 pm, and its 4 pm. She ask me what was my needs told her what was the deal that my voucher going to be expire on the 24th went to my P.O Box looking for recertified form there were nothing there. She responded they don't send the forms out no more they sent a notice for me to go online, download the form and turn it in. She hand 1 over to me anyway, but told me there were no one their to view or process my form for me I will to come back. I'd told her my work schedule got me a little too busy because of the holidays, she replied no problem at long as you turn it in with 10 days after the voucher expired you'll ok. I thought she was a big help. I came that week on Wednesday round noon they're closed.1 of the ladies at the front desk on the first floor said they only open Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. I replied ok today is Wednesday another lady told its ok let me give you an envelope to put your form and I'll stamped it, and can just put it in the drop box. I told my voucher expired already I have less than 10 days she said I stamped with the date you was here, you not going to loose your voucher.

I return back to the office January 5. In the pass I have ask to schedule appointments due to my job. They told me several times they don't give appointments. But that day I came I was told to take a number I had people with appointments in front of me. I replied wait you all told me y'all don't give appointments the lady on the 3rd floor at the front desk told me that's for different programs. I responded we are all on the 3rd floor what other programs aren't we all here for childcare she replied but its the truth. Right away I knew that was a lied. When you have to tell some one you telling the truth as if you trying to convince a story... you're lying. Anyway have I had already been there since 1 pm, and it was 2:15 pm. I went back to the desk ask the lady I will get some results today because I have to start work Wednesday and looking at the time y'all close at 4 and I have to get my daughter out of school at 3. She replied well sir you put your form in the drop box last an week have not receive our mail, she continue by saying I call the person that brings our mail when they come back from lunch. I thought to myself its 2:15 I drop it off last week Wednesday and haven't receive it yet that means they going to send me home with no results. So I replied with out yelling or being disrespectful I said, "ma'am, I have to have some results today, because I must return back to work on Wednesday." I don't know where this other lady come from, but assume she was her supervisor because she got involved made a big explosion causing by yelling telling me "hey look sir I will not have talk to my staffs that way, if you want our services you will have some respect." So I replied back I'm being disrespectful, how is I'm being disrespectful when y'all is very unorganized and unprofessional the way y'all deal with people. I continue by stating I'm not being disrespectful at all, what is disrespectful how ghetto you are, then of course I said af y'all and I left.

The University of Miami Debbie Institute has received outstanding services from Family Central through the Teachers and Literacy for Kids (T.A.L.K.) Program, Quality Counts, and APPLE Accreditation. Through the professional guidance of Linda Smith and Miriam Masia our teachers greatly improved their abilities to communicate successfully with young children and to use music and movement to stimulate language development. We were able to complete the APPLE Accreditation process successfully as a direct result of the skilled leadership of Lynda Ariyan. Her support made the process enjoyable. In addition, we have greatly appreciated the technical support provided by Wendy Gordon for our particpation in Quality Counts. She has been an inspiration to the members of our staff. Overall, we have found your staff to exemplary professionals. It has been a pleasure to work with them.

We have in many ways benefited from the help of the C-QuELL program. The C-QuELL staff has assisted us in obtaining accreditation for A.P.P.L.E. Our teachers have made improvements in their classrooms, as well as with organization and behavioral skills. Our parent involvement has improved tremendously. I am grateful for the support and training that C-QuELL has provided for my staff.

Family Central provides life-changing opportunities to famiies and young children, and I'm proud to be part of such a fabulous organization. A friend of mine was an insurance agent for Family Central. When I was hired, her words to me were, "You're going to love it there, everyone is so friendly and helpful". Not only do I find this to be true, but the focus is truly to support families so that children get the best start possible! Thanks to generous funding from the Jim Moran Foundation and their understanding of the importance of early childhood education, children and families in Family Central's C-QuELL program (Community for Quality Early Learning and Literacy) are exposed to a variety of experiences that lead to healthy development. Technical assistance is provided in classrooms for 3-5 year old children to maximize engagement in hands-on exploration with meaningful teacher interaction. Parent involvement and reading to childen are keys to children's success, so nightly reading at home is a must, along with participating in center activities such as game night, gardening, and financial literacy (a "Grow Up Great" initiative from PNC Bank). Children at the C-QuELL centers participate in fundraising to help those in need by making donations to local charities. What a great way to learn about compassion and empathy! Our Family and Community Specialist enables families/caregivers to take advantage of classes in parenting and learning English; just to name a few. Pre K classrooms are equipped with computers, and the technology specialist ensures appropriate programming for children, and provides assistance for teachers including professional development through webinars. Visits to elementary schools help children and families become prepared and comfortable transitioning to kindergarten. Family Central values community partnerships...after all, now is the time to establish the strong foundation for healthy children and ultimately healthy communities.

Family Central Inc., is a quintessential not for profit agency that takes great pride it its work, both internally and in the broad and diverse communities it serves. FCI believes in and values the people it employs and that is demonstrated through it's HR policies, ongoing professional development and strong employee recognition programs. FCI staff, in turn place a high value on the children and families it serves in the Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade areas. Family Central programs are innovative and cutting edge and are implemented with fidelity to national models and with great enthusiasm by individuals who strive to be the very best they can be every single day. The agency exemplifies 'servant leadership' and it has been my great privilege to be one of their funding agencies and partners for the past 5 years.
