Funding provided in 2016 is phase-one of a two-phase commitment made by the evan foundation. This work has the potential to benefit all neuroblastoma patients at risk for relapsing in the cns.
seattle children's hospital - this funding supports a promising clinical trial for children with high-risk neuroblastoma. Investigators collect blood from each patient in order to reprogram their t cells to target and kill neuroblastoma cells. The re-engineered cells are then infused back into the patient. Funds from the evan foundation support critical correlative studies aimed at understanding the persistence of the adapted immune cells and their presence in bone marrow and tumor tissue this is the second round of funding the evan foundation has provided for this project. The first round was in 2014.
