Mission: Endeavor miami's mission is to lead the movement to catalyze long-term economic growth by selecting, mentoring, and accelerating the best high- impact entrepreneurs in the south florida region. High-impact entrepreneurs are individuals who show tremendous entrepreneurial and leadership potential, can build high-growth businesses with significant job-creating opportunities and exhibit commitment to the development of their local community, which becomes a key-driver of economic growth. Endeavor miami provides resources that are not otherwise available to select high-impact entrepreneurs, so that they are able to scale their businesses, provide increased employment opportunities and a basis for sustained economic growth in south florida, and these entrepreneurs will inspire others as role models, become mentors or investors of other entrepreneurs to build an entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Programs: During 2016, endeavor miami reviewed close to 90 candidate entrepreneurs, coordinated mentors to conduct second opinion reviews with 39 companies, prepared 10 companies which presented at 4 local selection panels and supported 8 companies to present at international selection panels. This resulted in 3 new companies selected as endeavor entrepreneurs. In 2016, endeavor miami supported 15 companies led by 24 endeavor entrepreneurs. These entrepreneurs generated close to 100 million dollars in revenue and more than 1,500 jobs. During 2016, a total of 54 endeavor miami mentors generated more than 250 touchpoints with entrepreneur candidates and endeavor entrepreneurs. In order to accelerate their growth, endeavor miami provided to its endeavor entrepreneurs targeted mentorship and other services, including support during their fundraising processes, access to partnerships, access to entrepreneurs in other markets and access to talent. Endeavor miami also published an insight section in its annual impact report which talked about the trends in 5 sectors prone for entrepreneurial growth in south florida, which got covered in the miami herald.
