Richmond Shakespeare members act as evangelists for the bard in Central Virginia. My experience with these fine people convinces me that they are fully committed to preserving Shakespeare and converting high school students into acolytes! This is such an important service to our community and, in fact, to the preservation of our common culture. Imagine an English-speaking world in which Shakespeare does not exist. It would be tragic indeed. I hope many generous individuals will continue to support Richmond Shakespeare and its educational and entertaining services. Bravo!

Mission: The mission of the Encore! Theatre Company is to create unique performances of theatre, using original or established works and emphasizing the plays of William Shakespeare. Our aim is to impart an appreciation of the written word in performance by ensuring that these theatrical experiences are accessible to a broadly diverse audience. Our primary focus is on serving audiences in the Richmond and Central Virginia region. To that end, Encore! is dedicated to providing educational support for schools, colleges, educators, and community organizations.
Programs: Produced annual shakespeare festival at agecroft hall in richmond, va. Promoted the work of william shakespeare with educational programs, and several other productions.
