Programs: Senior center programs:1. Congregate meals program:the congregate meals program provides hot, nutritious and well-balanced meals, prepared and served at the encore senior center, to senior citizens who are 60 years of age and older, five days each week, from monday to friday. This program provided 47,538 meals during fiscal year july 2016 -june 2017. 2. Home delivered meals program:this program delivers hot, frozen or kosher meals to homebound seniors residing on the westside of midtown manhattan, from 14th street to 110th street and from 5th avenue to 12th avenue. Meals are prepared and individually packaged from the encore senior center and then transported, via foot or van, to each senior's door from monday through friday. This program delivered 350,721 meals during fiscal year july 2016 - june 2017.
mental health program:this program is funded by the new york city department of health and mental hygiene to provide on-site rehabilitation and case management services to the elderly residents at encore 49 who have been diagnosed with severe and chronic mental illness and who have histories of homelessness.
homeless program:this program is funded by the new york city department of homeless services to provide on-site social services to the elderly homeless who are referred from the city-based shelter system to live at the encore 49 residence, a facility that provides affordable and permanent housing. The goals are to promote individual independence while providing a safety net of support services enabling resident to reintegrate into mainstream society.
