Mission: The El Cajon Project helps at-risk and disadvantaged high school students to graduate from high school and become productive members of our communities through an innovative culinary arts training program that offers school credit through a rigorous, hands-on learning environment at exclusive four and five-star restaurants. This unique vocational education initiative establishes multi-faceted relationships among youths, families, schools, business and dedicated individuals that strive to improve youths’ confidence and self-esteem while fostering personal growth and development.
Results: We are currently working on raising money to expand our program to much needed areas such as San Francisco, CA as well as the Soledad/King City, CA area.
Target demographics: low-income, high school students ages 16-19
Geographic areas served: Urban
Programs: Increase the number of students involved in the programs and the number of school districts that have access to the organization's programs
build partnerships for expanding programs. Team up with four star and five star restaurants to expand culinary programs and increase the number of events.
