Educating Girls Globally (EGG)works to enroll young girls in schools in Rashistan, India. Having completed a 50 school pilot project, EGG is expanding to 500 schools in this traditionally under developed region in India. Educated girls contribute more to society than educated boys in terms of sex education and family planning as well as adding 1-2% to a country's Gross Domestic Product compared to countries where girls are not educated because they become "employable". EGG succeeds by involving students, parents, teachers, administrators and community leaders in the education process. All have a voice in how the schools should be run and, thus, take ownership of them. The enrolled girls achieve an education which opens up opportunities and enables them to earn respect.
