Causes: Human Services
Mission: Dwell with dignity's mission is to help families escape poverty and homelessness through design, one household at a time. Our goals are to bring good design to those less fortunate, inspiring them to maintain a standard of living they can be proud of and thrive in. We create inspiring home interiors with the labor of dedicated volunteers and with the generosity of our donors.
Programs: Our family homes program provides completely furnished homes for families who have previously been homeless. Dwell with dignity designs and installs complete home interiors for families who desperately need an environment that will support health and wellness. We empower families to lead their best lives and to thrive in a safe, functional and beautiful environment. Our families become stable and create home lives of which they can be proud. Toxic stress levels are reduced significantly. Academics improve. Play dates are made. Plans are made for birthday parties, holiday gatherings and family dinners. These designs will have a powerful generational impact. In 2017 we served 22 families, which included 22 parents, 1 grandparent and 39 children.
our community projects program brings beautiful, nurturing interiors to our social services agency partners. We have transformed waiting areas, childrens play rooms and shelter day rooms. These projects allow our partners to provide a comforting environment so their clients feel cared for and provide a sense of confidence in the agency. In 2017, dwell with dignity re-furnished the art in a hallway at interfaith housing and furnished at drop-in center for teens at new friends new life.
