Noche de Gala - Cuerdas Clasicas is celebrating its 46th Anniversary featuring Estudiatina Tuna de Oro de Guanajuato and Mariachi Sirenas and the participation of Mariachi Sirenas. Cuerdas Clasicas was founded in 1976. When the Mexican Folkloric Dance Company of Chicago was founded in 1982 it began working with Cuerdas Clasicas because Cuerdas Clasicas played the Estudiantina music that MFDC desired to present for the Porfiriato era suite. My late wife Juanita and I became involved with Cuerdas Clasicas and I served as executive director for a time.

They performed with the Lira Singers at the National Museum of Mexican Art. It was a wonderful show.
