We give vital support to those facing life crises, trauma and suicide, and provide information, education and links to community resources to empower people to help themselves.Our vision is a community that understands and reponds to those needing support to cope with the challenges of life crises, trauma and suicide.
Results: CrisisLink hotline crisis counselors have answered 550,000 + crisis calls, 30,000+ suicide calls and provided 280,000+ referrals.

Programs: Crisislink's 24/7 crisis hotline offered crisis intervention, suicide prevention,and support to individuals to foster self-sufficiency by providing problem-solving skills and information on community resources so callers can better cope with emotional trauma, personal and family crises. Crisislink's hotline handled 45,030 calls in fy10, 46% more than fy09, and 117% more than 5 years ago. The organization helped 6,210 suicidal callers, 67% more than fy09.
crisislink's 2-1-1 virginia program helps people navigate our increasingly complex social services system by steering people to the right door the first time helping local agencies run "leaner not meaner. " the organization's 2-1-1 information & referral line handled nearly 70% more calls in fy10 than in fy09 and provided callers with nearly 70% as many referrals (23,929) to community-based programs ranging from mental health services, to utility and housing assistance services, to day care programs.
crisislink trains parents, youth, professionals, and community members on suicide prevention, mental health, and crisis response; and supports communities in the aftermath of trauma and disasters to help people cope and recover.
crisislink's tara sirmans survivor hope program provides immediate and ongoing support to individuals and families impacted by the loss of a loved one to suicide. Support includes loss team responses in the immediate aftermath of a suicide and an ongoing support group for survivors.
