I founded the Los Angeles-based nonprofit, Bags Into Beds, and Crafting Change has been pivotal in our mission's success. At Bags Into Beds, we process unrecycled soft plastics and repurpose them into plush stuffing which fills pillows for those experiencing homelessness. As a startup NGO, resources were limited and the future of the organization was uncertain, but Crafting Change came in like an uplifting breeze. With their amazing team of volunteer seamstresses, they began providing pillow exteriors which allowed us to redirect valuable resources and attention to other parts of our pillow-making process! In all honesty, without Crafting Change, our mission would not be here today. Thank you to everyone at Crafting Change!!
I continue to Craft Change daily. This year we have added on new partners and projects so that our choices of who to craft for increases. The sew-a-longs, classes, you tube channel and our pattern library are a continuous source of knowledge in all things knitting, crocheting and sewing. And the bi weekly zooms are a way to connect with others while working on projects, and a place to ask questions and share tips. Crafting Change helps me to help others, and I love what we have created as we continue to grow !

I love this organization. They are helping other non profits-
from Foster Care, to Chemo Care, to Hospice Care to Women's Care.
If you want to help Craft Change, this is the best group with weekly zooms, classes and
sew-alongs for our many partners.
I really don't know what I would do without the caring people at Crafting Change!

We are grateful for a dedicated and committed Board to help guide us, thank you for your time and dedication not only on the Board but as a committed volunteer who makes donations to our partner charities!
Crafting Change is a remarkable organization that has built a spirit of community among its volunteers as it provides much needed crafted items for the partner projects. The fact that members from all over the country can, through their love of crafting, make life a little bit better for those in need around the country and in some other parts of the world is simply amazing. Even though I don't have time to contribute a lot, I am honored to be part of this most loving, thoughtful, generous group.

Crafting Change is an amazing organization that serves/has served those in need in many locations in the USA and a few internationally.Just a few examples are masks sent to a teaching hospital in Nepal during the pandemic and to many locations in the States, cooling scarves for folks living in the tunnels under Las Vegas, blankets for hospice patients in Oregon and residents of a mental health facility in Florida, a variety of items made for several foster agencies, and menstrual hygiene kits going to middle school girls in rural Ghana to ensure that a lack of pads doesn't prevent them from graduating. There are many more beneficiaries of this group's efforts. Tiffany Herbert, founder and executive director, is a stellar organizer and, dare I say, cheerleader, who has built a wonderful sense of community among the crafters who contribute to Crafting Change projects. If anyone is looking for a charitable organization to support with their crafts or finances, Crafting Change certainly is a worthy cause.

Thank you so much for taking time to let folks know how you feel about us! We have had (and continue to have) some amazing charity partners that are helping some of the most marginalized communities. We are honored every time we are asked for help. Thank you for recommending us to others, it is always an honor to know that one of volunteers would encourage others to join in! Thanks for all you do to help those in need. We are grateful for you.
Crafting Change has given me the opportunity to use my skills for a purpose. I enjoy sewing and have even begun to get back into yarn crafts after many years, but my projects must be useful to someone and Crafting Change finds the groups that needs the items we create. The group has also given me ideas of items to craft and where I can donate them locally, giving me new connections in my community.
Crafting Change is an amazing community of people who love sharing their talents in crochet, knit, and sewing with others. Whether you are beginner, pro, or dabble across a few, there is a project for you.
Crafting changes keeps the community engaged through fun games, craft-a-longs, zooms, and sharing videos and short tips on YouTube.
I have found my people in the Crafting Change community of craftivists and the non-profit partners. We are learning from each other as we share our talents to create simple gifts of love that enrich the lives of others in need. I enjoy my time spent as a volunteer, having been with Crafting Change from the beginning. I anticipate many more years of crafting. If my yarn or fabric stash runs out, I’m sure there will be a project that uses “scraps”! My favorite type of item is for kids or the elderly, and there are many options for knitting, crocheting and sewing projects with our partner non-profits or donating locally.
Many non-profits local to me are happy to receive soap sacks, dishcloths, chemo caps, pillow ports, etc.
I love continuing to work with and for Crafting Change. We make a difference in people’s lives one item at a time and have partners and craftivists all around the country.
What is also wonderful is that our craftivists can chose which items they wish to make that our partners and non-profits in their area need and whom they chose to support with their wonderful handmade gifts.

Crafting Change, an unusual national non-profit has been a great organization for which to sew, knit & crochet for other small non-profits, helping to make a difference one item at a time. Our craftivists have connected across the country forming a true community of creatives who love to use their talents to help those in need.
I am very proud to be part of this amazing organization.

We are so grateful for dedicated Board Members, like you, who not only lead or organization, but spend untold hours volunteering in other ways by sewing, cutting kits and leading classes! Thanks for being a part of our community and helping those in need.
The range of organizations that Crafting Change supports means I can contribute to local, regional, and global causes that I would normally not be aware of. I'm so glad I can take my crafting hobby (and large stash) and rally behind causes that mean so much to me.
Crafting Change is an amazing community of individuals across the states. I have been working with them since COVID, after all the mask making groups started dwindling down. They ensured my organization had masks to provide to those we serve in our inpatient, outpatient and homeless programs. Since that time, they have continually supported the Mental Health Resource Center in Jacksonville, Florida with donations of hats, gloves and scarves in the winter, pillowcases, blankets and lapghans, totebags and backpacks. We collaborated to make “fiddlers” (a small stuffed pouch with a bead inside) for our children’s inpatient unit that allow the kids something to do with their hands. The individuals we serve in our multitude of programs truly are thankful for these items. Some leave our facilities without anything to carry their belongings in or having something to keep them warm in the winter cold. I’ve heard from staff these items make the individuals smile and it is nice to see them walk out of our buildings with dignity. Thank you Crafting Change and look forward to continued collaboration.
Crafting Change is a an amazing community of people helping so many across the globe! They have donated thousands of beautiful handmade soap sacks, backpacks, blankets, hats, gloves, mittens, and so much more for our efforts. Our hygiene kits would not have been possible without these donations and support from crafters all over the US.
Each Stitch Counts has been part of the Crafting Change organization for several years. Their platform has brought hundreds of donors to our mission by helping volunteers find our organization and donating handmade dish cloths that we donated with dish soap to our local food pantries.
We are able to continually expand our impact in the community due to the work of the volunteers that Crafting Change has connected with our organization.
My mother taught me to sew when I was a little girl. I practiced my skills by making doll clothes. Later, I made clothing for myself, and still later, I made clothing for my children. Now that I am retired, I enjoy sewing for the partner charities of Crafting Change. It is so gratifying to know that the tote bags, backpacks, fleece caps, blankets, menstrual supplies, fidget mats, and all the other items that we crafters make and send to Crafting Change can really make a difference in someone else's life. I especially like knowing that each charity partner has been checked out thoroughly and that what we make for them is an item that is really needed. I like having specific instructions, guidance, and a way to get feedback when needed. I am glad that the sewing skills I have worked on all my life can now benefit people all over the United States and in other countries as well.

We think sewing is a super-power! We are so glad that you are finding joy in using that power today in such a charitable way. So many amazing organizations need help and only someone with that super-power can meet that need! We are glad you find our website helpful with our pattern catalog and partner pages with info. You can rest assured every donation to our partner charities will be used and loved!
Crafting Change is a wonderful organization, allowing crafters to use their skills to help others. The groups that CC helps are all vetted by the board. The board provides all the information needed to create the items being made for its charities. The board and members of CC are very responsive to any questions or concerns crafters may have. And they are always open to adding more groups to their list of recipients. They are an excellent example of someone's idea and some grassroots organizing leading to helping untold numbers of people in the US and in select locations worldwide.

Proof that one person can make a difference! One idea sparks the idea for Crafting Change then look at all the good we do as individuals working together! Each of us super important to the mission of helping those in need. So glad you are here helping!
Crafting Change has created an environment that helps so many people. I have seen one of our sewists hugged by a receipent. We have helped people that had no hope. Smiles are a wonderful thank you! Toni Mohr

We are so glad you a part of our community, Toni! Helping those in need is truly a gift and we can't do it without the time and talents of volunteer Craftivists like you! Thank you for being on our team.
Been assisting with Craftingchange since its inception. Great organization!

Thanks for taking the time to leave these kind words, we think you are pretty great too!
I’ve always had a calling to serve in my community and had explored volunteering in various ways. But none of them affected me the way using my sewing skills did. I joined this group in 2021 to volunteer sew in my spare time. This is an amazing group whom I consider as great global citizens. While they sew, knit and crochet needed handmade items for people throughout the US, they also provide handsewn goods to the people of Ukraine affected by the war with Russia. In addition, they provide sewn items for ongoing projects in Africa. I have sewn off/on through the years for many charity organizations and I find this to be one of the best organized. Not only do they provide us with ongoing support and connection within their Facebook group, they have a rapport with the organizations that receive the items. These are some of the friendliest, hardworking, and talented people who give so much to help the group run effectively. I’m glad I can pick projects within my skill level and feel like I can help others with my talents. All of their projects include requirement details and thorough instructions. It is perfect for beginners, especially if you are just learning to sew. It is a great way to learn to enhance your skills if you are an intermediate sewists. My skills have improved and I’ve learned many new techniques such as chain sewing to increase my productivity. These skills are valuable to use in other sewing pursuits I have.

We are so grateful for volunteers like you! You have been with us for a long time, sew for projects you care about and see the wide array of projects we have to offer. We like that you recognized that we can all learn new skills and become better at our crafts together within our community! WE love to learn together. Thanks so much for all you do to help those in need!
Crafting Change helped provide needed items for patients at the clinic I managed. These were patients who were often overlooked and these compassion this organization provided through lovingly hand-crafted items meant so much to the patients who received them. Crafting Change is an amazing organization who is truly making a huge global difference.

CraftingChange 06/07/2023
We are always humbled when we are trusted to provide items for a partner organization. We are also so excited when we get such great feedback from them. We must love handcrafting items for those in need, especially those overlooked and marginalized. Thank you for trusting Crafting Change Craftivists for taking care of your patients.
This is an amazing organization! They help a variety of people (and animals) all over the world in a variety of ways. SO organized and well run too :)

Awwww, thanks so much! We are so grateful you took the time to let folks know how you feel about us! We are doubly grateful for volunteers like you!
Unique, Caring, Focused. These three words come to my mind when I think of Crafting Change. "Unique" in that Crafting Change supports various organizations with unique needs throughout both the USA and oversees. I am unaware of any other organizations that supports a number of charities with such diverse needs. " Caring" because Crafting Change supports smaller and lesser known organizations that might not get the help they need due to their location or unique mission. Crafting Change is also "Focused"on not only helping various charities but also they are focused on helping members improve their crafting skills with Zoom Room workshops and sew-alongs as well as producing skill-building videos for members to reference when needed.
The board is TOP notch !!! I have received so much information about all the projects (do's and don'ts), easy to follow video's, etc. I am honored to be a part of this fantastic group and support all their causes and charities.
Crafting Change 501(c)(3) is an exceptional nonprofit organization that seamlessly blends, creativity and social impact to empower communities. I have had the privilege of witnessing their incredible work firsthand, and I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I am with their dedication, innovation, and commitment to making a positive difference. One of the aspects that truly sets Crafting Change apart is there includes the inclusivity. They believe in the power of art to bridge, divides and foster understanding among diverse population by providing workshop, training, and resources to marginalized community, they enable individual to find a voice, develop new skills, and unleashed their creativity.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave this comment. I'm so glad this has been your experience, we strive really hard to be there for every human!
I have been a volunteer through Crafting Change since it started in 2021. They have been amazing with connecting craftivists with amazing non-profit organizations that support worthy causes. Beyond the connection, Crafting Change also helps volunteers by providing materials when needed to support making items for the non-profit partners.

CraftingChange 06/07/2023
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, we love our volunteers and want to make your experience as easy as possible. We are grateful for all you do to help those in need!
I wanted to help others with my crocheting. I found Crafting Change through another nonprofit organization. But, the biggest difference with CC is that it's a real community full of people helping so many people and organizations. Plus, we have wonderful Zoom meetings. No matter what you craft, there's a project for you. There's always someone to help if you get stuck and need advice or help. It's great to know what I am making goes to someone in need.

CraftingChange 06/07/2023
Thank you for sharing your experience! We strive really hard to build that sense of community and we are so glad that you feel it! We are glad you are a part of it and have found worthy organizations to donate your Crochet items to. We agree, that we learn so much from each other and are glad that in our community it is full of so many knowledgable folks.
Crafting Change is an amazing organization that has touched the lives of many people, both locally and globally. They connect volunteers (known as craftivists) with organizations in need of items that can be crafted, such as menstrual pads, warm hats, soap sacks, tote bags, and pet supplies, to name a few. They are responsive and provide patterns, online training, support, and encouragement to craftivists. I would encourage anyone looking for a creative outlet and a way to serve others to check out Crafting Change. From novice to expert, they make everyone feel welcome!

CraftingChange 06/07/2023
Thank you so much for taking the time to let others know of your experience! We strive hard to have projects for every level of craftivist and so many opportunities for anyone to get involved. We are so grateful for volunteers, like you, who work on projects for our charity partners and help those in need!
Crafting change has been an amazing organization for so many charities. I volunteer through them for many projects. They have amazing patterns, outlines, clear ways to donate & their vetting of charity partners makes me feel secure in my time being used well.

CraftingChange 06/07/2023
One of our founding principles is to ensure our charity partners are well vetted so volunteers can feel secure in where there donations are going! We are so glad it makes you feel secure your donations are going somewhere that needs them...because they are! Thanks for being a CC Craftivist!
The Crafting Change Community is a wonderful organization to be a part of. There is a wide variety of charities & projects to choose from in order to help others, not only in the USA but also in foreign countries. The Board & members are all so helpful & willing to share ideas/suggestions when asked. I have been made to feel that the items I make & donate are greatly appreciated by the charities/ groups receiving them.

CraftingChange 06/07/2023
We are so grateful to have you as part of our community and YES your donations are truly appreciated by those who receive them! Our global reach can only happen because of volunteer Craftivists like YOU. THANK YOU!
I found Crafting Change when my prior organization stopped making masks and I'm so glad I did. The people in this group are amazing, positive and supportive. I love that it is so easy for me to help the wonderful organizations they serve. I get to keep my creative side happy working with fabrics (and buying them) knowing the end recipients will benefit. I like the variety of project options and the well organized instructions and ability to Tally.

CraftingChange 06/07/2023
Thank you for being a pandemic mask maker! You are a hero. We are so grateful that you found us and can now help all of the amazing partner organizations that have reached out to us for help! There is nothing more satisfying than buying (and using) our fabric for a good cause.
