This is an incredible agency designed to support those affected by CHD. They provide numerous resources, support, education, as well as community and hospital involvement. Their staff are friendly and passionate about the cause and treat every situation with the utmost care. I highly recommend following their work, getting involved with their program and accessing their support if needed.
Conquering CHD - Massachusetts has made an indescribable impact on mine and my family's lives. My younger sister has lived with CHD her whole life but outside of consistent cardiology appointments and daily medication, she was lucky enough to avoid the operating room. I got involved with CCHD-MA to help those families also impacted by CHD. Summer of 2021 we found ourselves on the recieving end of this organization as my little sister went in for a valve repair.
While I knew our work was important and impactful, actually feeling the support of the volunteers and the help of the comfort items and resources was incredible. From heart moms and dads, to adults with CHD, the volunteers represent so many different aspects of living with CHD. I couldn't be more thankful for this community or honored to be a part of it. Thank you for continuing to spead awareness, knowledge, community, and research!
This charity has helped me in so many ways. Not only as the Teen and adult coordinator of Conquering CHD Massachusetts where I get the satisfaction of helping others like myself, but I get that love and support from the community as I go through life myself with chd. To have that support behind you, the people who get you and understand what life is like with CHD… is just unexplainable. I am forever grateful for CCHD - MA.
Conquering CHD is an incredible organization that I am so thankful to have found and am honored to now serve as a board member in Massachusetts!
I found this organization during their annual Advocacy Conference, and I was immediately impressed by the amount of research, education, and advocacy. As a mother whose son was prenatally diagnosed with CHD, the resources they provide were everything I wished I had back then, and as we were preparing for surgery.
My experience with the CCHD-MA chapter has been a pleasure; collaborating with the most dedicated team who work tirelessly to spread awareness and support our fellow CHD community across New England and provide them with the resources they need to conquer the most common birth defect.
Conquering CHD-Massachusetts provides direct support and critical information to patients and families living with the most common birth defect -- congenital heart disease. With one of the world's leading heart centers in its backyard, as well as numerous medical centers and clinics serving communities throughout the state, Conquering CHD-MA partners with patients, communities, and medical providers to support families from around the world with information about quality care, support networks, and managing this lifelong disease. As an adult with CHD and parent to two children with CHD, I support CCHD-MA because of its commitment to supporting ALL families to conquer congenital heart disease.
Conquering CHD has been apart of our life since we found out our son had a prenatal CHD diagnosis. We were handed a kit at a prenatal appointment with loads of information to advocate for our son and ask questions of our care team, ways to connect with other families in the area, and comfort items.
Volunteering with this organization, alongside patients, parents, spouses, caregivers, and professionals has been extremely rewarding. The organization is forward thinking and looking to improve the lives of all those effected by CHD, while we all strive to conquer the most common birth defect. The MA team is phenomenal and expands its each beyond the state boarders into NE and beyond. Lucky to serve alongside this amazing chapter.
Conquering CHD is a one-stop shop for patients with congenital heart disease and their families. As a parent of two CHD patients and a Patient Advocate, I am able to access local support from other CHD families, education on the latest advancements in cardiac treatment and research, as well as participate in legislative advocacy.
Conquering CHD has given me the resources to best advocate for my children and their care and has connected me to a national network from which to learn from and grow with. My family will grow with Conquering CHD, as my children transition to adolescent and adult CHD providers, and eventually manage their care solo. Conquering CHD supports the CHD patient over their lifetime and that's something none of us can go without.
Volunteers in Massachusetts provide much-needed support and comfort during difficult times. They host events to celebrate the good times. They provide education and resources when patients and families need it most. They are truly changing the landscape of congenital heart disease, one patient at a time!
Volunteering for this organization has been indescribable. The community that has been formed has impacted so many individuals living with CHD. Conquering CHD's mission is to create visibility and empower all impacted by CHD through raising awareness, knowledge, community, and research. As a CHD patient myself, I have found so many helpful resources that I wish I had known about earlier.
Conquering CHD is a fantastic organization that makes meaningful differences in the CHD community. From supporting patients and families with hospital kits and arming them with education, to advocating on Capitol Hill, to being at the forefront of pushing hospitals for transparency in outcomes, we lead the charge in getting CHD the spotlight it needs.
CCHD-MA is always coming up with innovative ways to support New England area families, to work with our world class hospitals, and get the information about CHD out there!
Volunteering for this nonprofit has been a dream for me - to being able to give back to the same community that helped my family following our daughter's diagnosis. We are all patients and families impacted by CHD, sharing our experiences and knowledge to help our fellow community members navigate through uncharted waters. I have been fortunate enough to work alongside some of the most passionate advocates and friends I could ever ask for in this organization. There is no cure for CHD and I have made it my lifelong mission to conquer CHD for all patients across the lifespan.
