To raise the academic achievement of urban public school children, leading them to succeed in school and beyond. We use the resources of technology to educate teachers, parents and students, as our cornerstone and integrated approach for attaining improved educational outcomes.
Programs: CfAL has 2 major programs underway, which are:The Technology Cascade & Training Program provides relevant computer experience for disadvantaged families interested in improving their opportunities. It offers new knowledge, skills and hope for a measurable improvement in conditions among the most vulnerable children, youth and families. The program gives computers and computer training to financially challenged parents of students in underachieving public elementary schools. The purpose of the program is to measurably increase parents? involvement in their children?s education at home. Objectives include, extending learning beyond the classroom and helping close the ?digital divide?. The direct benefit to parents and students includes having their own computer, computer training, home installation and a one year of technical support, all at no charge.The Integrating Technology in Teaching Program is designed to increase teachers' productivity and effectiveness by instruction them how to integrate technology in their classrooms.
