Mission: Created in 1954, the Community Foundation's vision is to create a region whose residents lead the nation in their generosity, civic engagement, inclusiveness, and collaboration to address community needs. Our grantmaking touches on a broad range of community needs, with competitive grants made in four focus areas: Education and Lifelong Learning, Arts and Cultural Participation, Neighborhoods and Civic Engagement, and Self-Reliant Individuals and Families. Innovation characterizes our donor advisors' and supporting foundations' grantmaking as well; they are engaged philanthropists committed to building a better community.
