My favorite thing about this place is that it teaches basketball with an emphasis on leadership and sportsmanship. The first time I walked through a door behind an athlete from this organization, the young man politely opened the door and stepped to the side for me to walk through it. With the respect that Coach Randy commands from his players on the court, it is not surprising that these boys would transfer it to life off of the court. All I can say is that if you have an opportunity to volunteer here, or to have played basketball here, you are a very lucky person!
The people at the Miners facuility are a great and caring bunch. I work out at the facuility three times a week and am always treated with respect and care when I am in the building. The faculity is always in impecable condition. I am pleased to write this review on how amazing the faculity and staff truly are.

My mom was sent to Colorado Miners by God.She was looking for someplace for me to go during Summer because I was getting into to much trouble.I was influenced by my former friends they taught me how to dress cheaply,Give my mom and others I cared about trouble Raising me/Helping me through life,I would always give smart remarks to anything. My mom told me about Colorado Miners one day when I was walking home from my bus stop. I tried it Veterans Day Volunteering and i learnt by Coach Randy that any day in my life I am going to pass away so I need to charish what I have in life before I'm gone and eversince Ive took that into my heart and charished what I have especially my mombecaus Ive causd her so much pain that she's wanted to just walk away and leave. Not only what coach told me motivated me I've seen kids that have a lower Wardrobe,Not such a great life,And I think my life is bad but they dont have the things I have So I should be gratful of what I have in life.
This is an amazing organization run by and incredible guy, Randy Perkins. My son plays basketball for this organization and part of their motto is community service and they do it. My son has helped to serve meals at the rec center which helped him fufill his community service hours as well as gave him the opportunity to give back to others. Clients who come to this center are treated with respect and are given responsibilty which help them to grow.

In February of this year, I walked into this organization and was addicted from get go. The recreation center was closed down and this organization called the Colorado Miners opened the doors, and it is absolutely amazing. Randy's heart for inner city kids is amazing. There are so many things that this specific neighborhood needs but there is nobody that will be able to make a difference like Randy can. I started off just wanting to volunteer for about 10 hours a week and I at the present time volunteer for 40+ hours a week.
At the center we feed the neighborhood kids at 4pm monday thru friday. The center has only been open for 6 months and at this time the hours are 12-7pm Monday thru Fri but we are hoping to extend the hours soon as soon as there are funds for staff. This organization gives clothes, and food to kids that need it but more than that the kids are getting their souls fed by someone that truly cares about them. I have never seen a place with so much networking. TO TRULY UNDERSTAND WHAT THIS CENTER IS DOING YOU NEED TO COME SEE WHAT GOES ON HERE DAILY.
