Mission: Inspiring colorado to end domestic violence.
Programs: Technical assistance work is the most significant area of ccadv's programmatic activities. In 2016, over 9,000 staff hours (50%) was devoted to technical assistance. Ccadv provides technical assistance to domestic violence organization members, community partners, and government and human service agencies. Technical assistance includes a broad spectrum of topics and levels of intensity, ranging from basic consultations to intensive, in-depth engagement and on-site delivery. Ccadv stays informed on best and innovative practices, emerging issues, and trends to provide quality technical assistance that increases the safety and well-being of people experiencing domestic violence across individual, community, and system response. Technical assistance is delivered through in-person interactions; audio and video conferencing; webinars; ccadv's online resource library that includes access to developed materials, research and publications. In addition, ccadv also responded to 577 direct requests for technical assistance.
education, awareness, and advocacy: in 2016,ccadv spent over 5,100 hours (27%)of staff time engaged in education, awareness, and advocacy. An important component of the coalition's work, ccadv works on behalf of survivors of domestic violence and victim advocates to raise statewide awareness of domestic violence and to educate the public on the issue through community presentations and statewide campaigns. Ccadv's activities in this area aim to enhance the safety and well-being of individuals who are experiencing domestic violence, to address societal conditions that allow domestic violence to persist, and to create just communities in which domestic violence is no longer tolerated. Ccadv is the leading expert on domestic violence in colorado, and is the clearinghouse for information on the issue. Ccadv also works with our membership to identify and correct systematic problems which undermine accountability through engagement in systems.
training: ccadv enhances the capacity of colorado's domestic violence advocacy organizations by providing learning opportunities on best practices that promote consistent, high-quality advocacy and safety services grounded in survivorcentered,trauma-informed practice, as well as sound non-profit management and governance. Ccadv trained over 874 individuals in 2016 through its annual colorado advocacy in action conference, in collaboration with the colorado coalition against sexual assault; two additional statewide training events; an executive director institute; multiple regional membership meetings; the statewide judicial conference; several webinars; and on demand, customized trainings. A total of 2,312 hours were spent training others across colorado in 2016. Ninety-six (96) percent of training evaluations rate the quality of ccadv trainings as "high. "
membership: ccadv membership related activities include soliciting prospective members, collection of membership dues, membership relations and development of member services. Expenditures cover the stated services and based on staff time spent on these activities, include the related proportion of organizational overhead.
