ChildCareGroup (CCG) works to make child care affordable, available and good for children, and has been working to improve the lives of young children in Dallas for well over a century. What sets CCG apart is that its work is comprehensive and guided by the best research and expertise available. CCG not only provides direct services to families who need child care or help paying for it, but also advocates for better policies and programs at the local, state, and national levels. Every person who deals with CCG, whether a single parent who speaks no English, a donor, board member, or legislator, is treated with dignity, respect, and diligence.
Everyday ChildCareGroup helps shape the future of the youngest, most at-risk children in the North Texas area. They do this through a variety of programs including directly caring for children so their parents can work, paying for care for low-income working families, educating parents so they can make the best child care choice, providing professional development for caregivers so they can be the best in the profession, helping programs serve nutrious meals, and by teaching parents to be their child's first teacher.
As a senior marketing major at a local university, we are encouraged to shadow businesses in the field we would like to work with.
Shadowing at CCG was a wonderful, educational experience. Each person I had the pleasure of meeting greeted me with warm smiles, ready and willing to answer any questions I might have had. Their enthusiasm for their jobs showed the true focus of this organization: the children.
Visiting the Bock day care center was the highlight of my day. The Caregivers showed so much love, respect and patience with each child. As I watched the children progress from activity time, to play time, to lunch, it was obvious that these children were learning and developing. Sometimes we as adults take for granted how much the small things like learning the parts of a book, setting a table for lunch or just learning to sit still means for a child. We forget that we were once children, and where would we be if someone had ignored our need to learn basic skills like these. They are so important to the development and education of a child!
The CCG care centers are more than just day care; they are loving and equipping these children for the rest of their lives. They celebrate with them in their successes and walk with them through their difficult times.
Thank you ChildCareGroup for showing my why I want to work in nonprofit.
I have 24 years of experience as an early childhood education professional. This is an organization that has a strong commitment to high quality services that are culturally sensitive and responsive to client needs. Management, educational, and social service staff are experienced and knowledgeable in their respective areas. The expertise of the organization is demonstrated through professional presentations on the local, state, and national levels. Child outcomes are tracked to assure that adjustments in services are made to assure that children enter school ready to learn. Parental involvement is valued and parents are supported in their role as their child's "first teacher." Program initiatives include family literacy, male involvement, and support of healthy relationships and marriages. Programs consistently demonstrate high compliance with local, state, and national standards as indicated by self-assessments, national professional association and federal monitorings.
ChildCareGroup supports a worthy cause. They assist parents who would otherwise be without care and facilitate their ability to work and create financal support for the family.
Their RC3 model of Childcare has received national recognition.
ChildCareGroup meets a real need for so many working parents throughout Dallas County- offering their children a safe place to learn and thrive. The educational quality of ChildCareGroup child development centers is extraordinarily impressive- teachers are shaping the young lives of children, ensuring their success in school and in life. I've spoken with parents who are able to work- and break the cycle of poverty in their families by enrolling their youngsters in quality child development programs through ChildCareGroup. It creates in these parents a sense of pride- a confidence their young children are sure to notice and follow in... what a critical need this longtime nonprofit continues to meet!
